YES, yes, I know, Oprah is an icon. But she's an out-of-control icon whose use of the medium for her various personal crusades is getting tiresome and overbearing.
And I'm not just talking about the dopey (not to mention dull) Letterman incident.
There was the Hermes flap, the one she called her "Crash" moment — after being refused admission after hours.
Yes, well, they would have turned away the Pope if he showed up looking for something in a nice wallet after hours, too.
