Bad Academy Awards puns are flying. There’s the “Brokeback backlash” ... the little film that “crashed” the party ... the one about “Brokeback Mountain” peaking too early.
While the cowboy love story “Brokeback Mountain” has been established as a solid favorite for the best-picture Oscar. The ensemble drama “Crash” has an ardent following and some late-season momentum that could make it a surprise winner.
When there’s a clear Oscar front-runner, that film almost always goes home with the big trophy, but upsets do happen and late-surging films have pulled off come-from-behind wins.

Singer Chris Martin dropped the bombshell at the Brits Award - as they won awards for best single and best album.
The star, hinting the break would be temporary, said as he picked up the second gong: "This means so much to us, especially now. It's going to be a few years before you see us again."
And Chris, 28, added: "People are fed up with us - and so are we."
Mates say he is breaking up the band, famed for worldwide hits Yellow and Speed of Sound, to spend more time with wife Gwyneth Paltrow - expecting their second baby in April. The singer later told Brits host Chris Evans, who had a self-imposed TV exile: "You had a break, so are we."
The four-piece group met at university in London in 1997 and landed a record deal two years later. They have recorded three award-winning albums: Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y.
But recently there have been rumours that the three other members are unhappy at Chris attracting all the attention.

"Sleep is my weapon. I try to get eight hours a night. I think what works best is sleep, water - and a good cleanser."
She told Glamour last year:
"I moisturize my body and face whenever I get out of the shower, at night before bed and in the morning.
We know her secret beauty booty now. :lol

Alright. I think this might actually be real this time. According to Page Six, French actress Eva Green has been cast as Vesper Lind in the newest James Bond film, Casino Royale. So why do I think this time the story is finally true, well, simply put, Eva Green is a nobody. So far, pretty much every actress has turned down the role.
From Angelina Jolie to Scarlett Johansson, almost every "it girl" has been linked to this film at one point or another, but have invariably turned it down. There seems to be a "Bond Girl Curse" (that curse being the quick career spiral of death usually experienced by actress after being in a Bond movie). Also, another total no-name actor, Mads Mikklesen of Denmark has been named as Le Chiffre, the baddie of the film. Yeah, I've never heard of him either.
Green, who appeared nude in Bernardo Bertolucci's steamy "The Dreamers", beat out her closest rival, Olivia Wilde, who recently appeared on several episodes of "The O.C.". Green, 25, snapped up a role that was reportedly turned down by Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Thandie Newton. Sony chiefs greenlighted Green this week after flying her to Prague for a screen test with Craig.
So, maybe this is it, maybe it isn't, I really can't be sure at this point. All I do know is, this movie pretty much stars no one that anyone would be interested in seeing. And don't pretend like anyone knows who Daniel Craig is, cuz they don't. So all the producers really have going for them is the character. One that has become less and less interesting at each outing. Good luck, with that guys.

An insider said: "She looks way too thin. It's scary. Everyone around her is buzzing that she's working herself right into exhaustion."
Madonna recently admitted she likes keeping in shape for her husband, director Guy Ritchie.
She said at the time: "I wish I were comfortable enough to be a big woman.
"But I choose men who like carved-out women."

That right there is the problem with Lindsay Lohan. She needs to get her priorities straight. She also needs to read just her worldview. Reading the article, you really get a sense of a vapid young girl, who with all her life experience, is only starting to put two and two together. The article is also filled with prosaic gems from the teen actress, like: "Sometimes being that thin doesn't look healthy. I kind of didn't realize that." To which she adds: "It was an attention thing, too. [But] you start to wonder if your friends are your friends because you look a certain way."
If the rest of the article is to be believed, Lindsay is eating healthier, going on hikes, and baking cakes. I'm not buying. Her story or the magazine. Of course, these pictures of Lindsay Lohan might make me think twice. I've got to admit it. The girl looks good in a photograph.

Paris Hilton has been attacked by anti-fur protesters at London Fashion Week. The heiress had opened fur-using designer Julien Macdonald's show on the first night wearing £2m worth of diamonds. Animal rights campaigners showered flour over Hilton and MacDonald as they went to his after-show party.Peta Europe's Yvonne Taylor explained: "There is nothing remotely fashionable about the torture and death of animals killed for fur. Julien Macdonald may have been able to ignore images of bloody skinned animals gasping for breath in the past, but hopefully a dash of flour will help him rise to the occasion and forsake fur once and for all."There has been no response from Macdonald's spokesperson as of yet.

Oscar winner Brad Pitt is said to be faultlessly carrying off the part of a perfect partner to actress Angelina Jolie, by shouldering her responsibilties of parenting her adopted children. It's undoubtedly one of the most challenging roles Brad is played in his real life, but he seems to be doing it quite efffortlessly. Recently the star was spotted on a family outing in Paris with pregnant partner Angelina Jolie and their adopted son Maddox, four. The 42-year-old Troy actor seemed to be having as much fun as Maddox, in a cosy Parka, as they raced remote-control cars around a park. "They were having loads of fun-just like a father and son should. Brad seemed completely at ease with Maddox, who was having an absolute riot," Newsoftheworld quoted a passer-by."There was no awkwardness between them at all...apart from when Maddox thought Brad was running him off the road!" the passer-by added.

The winter Olympics proved no match for television's gold-medal winner, "American Idol."
