For the first time since the "The English Patient" won an Oscar in 1997, there's a very real possibility that the winner of the Academy Awards' best picture honor might not top $100 million at the box office.
That milestone has become the norm in Hollywood, where best picture champs have broken the century mark 75% of the time in the past 20 years.
"Brokeback Mountain" is Oscar's sole hope for reaching that level. Director Ang Lee's cowboy love story has corralled a bustling $72.1 million in 74 days. This past weekend, it lassoed nearly three times as much business as its nearest best picture competitor, "Capote."
More importantly, "Brokeback" was popular with filmgoers even before the recognition — in the form of nominations — by the academy.

Jesse McCartney is a teen idol- a hot young singer. The 18-year-old is learning the perks of Hollywood that you can illegally enter a nightclub and drink with no questions asked.
This photo of McCartney was taken last Saturday night at Mood, one of the hottest clubs in Hollywood. Under California law, no one under 21 is permitted to enter the club, much less drink inside. But the Corona in Jesse's firm grip tells a very different story.
How do they get away with it? A Hollywood nightclub promoter, who asked to remain anonymous, was blunt: "Authorities know that there are underage celebrities inside drinking and if they don't care, why should we?" He added the obvious: "Celebrities help to make our clubs more exclusive."

Brad, 42 and Jennifer, 37 split in January 2005 and their divorce was finalized in October.
The details are still not clear on the couple's plans for the complete divison of assets.

Keira Knightley loved filming sex scenes in 'Domino'. The stunning actress - who played a bounty hunter in the movie - admits it was refreshing to show off her body in steamy romps with co-star Edgar Ramirez. She said of their racy scenes: "I found it extraordinarily exhilarating." Film bosses are now hoping Keira's assets can help save the movie from flopping on DVD as it did at the box-office. A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "It's a lot easier to see on the DVD. "Hopefully, fans will want to study her in more detail."

Lindsay Lohan doesn't want to be called a 'Teen Queen'. In an interview in the March issue of Allure magazine, now at news stands, the 19-year-old says she wants to be considered a serious actress and rejects her youthful, party-girl image.
"I hate it when people call me a teen queen," Lohan says in an interview.

Don’t invite Mischa Barton and Paris Hilton to the same party. A catfights have broken out between the star of “The O.C.” and the partying heiress.Barton lashed out when a reporter asked her about Hilton during a party after the British awards show, BAFTA.
