Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are celebrating the birth of their first child, a boy that has been named Alexander Pete Schreiber.
Watts' publicist Robin Baum said that the baby was born Wednesday in Los Angeles, weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
It's the first child for the Australian actress and her boyfriend, who co-starred in 'The Painted Veil'.
Watts has also starred in 'King Kong', 'Mulholland Drive', 'The Ring' and its sequel.
Schreiber's credits include 'The Manchurian Candidate,' 'The Omen' and he has just completed work on Mike Newell's 'Love in the Time of Cholera'.
