Amy Winehouse was hospitalized in London Wednesday for "severe exhaustion," a Universal Music spokeswoman said.
The 23-year-old soul singer was released in the afternoon and advised to "take complete rest," said Serena Gallagher. Winehouse's scheduled performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been canceled.
The big-haired singer is scheduled to begin the North American leg of her tour in September.

According to reports, earlier today Kevin filed a formal request for primary physical custody of the ex-couple's two children Sean Preston, 22-months and Jayden James, 10-months.
Unnamed sources say that Kevin is concerned that Britney has and continues to expose the boys to "unnecessary risk." The nature of that risk was not specified.

It looks like celebrities will do whatever it takes to look young, and actress Gwyneth Paltrow is no exception.
The Oscar winner was spotted buying a cream that has snake venom to de-wrinkle.
Recently, the 'Shakespeare in Love' actress turned up at Sonya Dakkar spa in Beverly Hills.
A witness said that Paltrow bought 9 Ultra Lux products that also included a cream with the venom in it
"It's not Botox. Just a cream that has the venom in it . . . [the cream] is part of the facials," the New York Post quoted the source, as saying.

Kate Moss has revealed she doesn't consider herself a celeb – because she's not into the red carpet treatment.
'I do my job,' says the 33-year-old model. 'I see celebrity as doing the red carpet - I don't do that. I don't like that word.'

Cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden has hit out at reports a new ad promoting Britney Spears new fragrance makes use of a body double instead of the pop star. The new print campaign features an apparently toned and trim Spears plugging her latest scent, Believe, and the super-svelte physique has led many to question whether it's actually her. The New York Post reports editors allegedly super-imposed the mother-of-two's head on another model's body after Spears left the photo shoot three times. But a spokesperson for Elizabeth Arden insists, "The only person in the national print ad for Britney's Believe fragrance is Britney Spears."
Are they kidding with this ad? Britney hasn't looked like that since 2000. This is just ridiculous.

On July 30, the two lovebirds – who were first photographed together July 13 – flew on a private jet to Muskoka, Canada, where Kurt Russell and mom Goldie Hawn own a home.
Most of the Hudson/Hawn/Russell clan was there (only her brother Oliver and his wife, Erinn, were absent), but Shepard wasn’t shy about socializing.
“Dax fit right in,” says a source, adding that the Employee of the Month actor, 32, played tennis with Hudson’s younger brothers Wyatt and Boston, and helped teach her 3-year-old son, Ryder, how to fish.
“One day, all the guys took a boat to an outdoor market and ate hot dogs. Dax and Kurt were laughing like they had known each other for years,” says the source.
Indeed, both actors appear in the short film Hudson recently directed for Glamour magazine.
Despite the ease with which Shepard got along with his new flame’s family, pals of Hudson, 28 (who split from actor Owen Wilson, 38, in May), wonder what she sees in him.
“Everyone thinks it’s a strange choice for her. Dax is wild and weird,” says one source close to the star.
One reason for her appeal? Admits the pal: “He makes her laugh.”

Britney Spears has been photographed frolicking topless in a hotel swimming pool.
The 'Oops...I Did It Again' star exposed her breasts while playing a drinking game with Mike Encinias, an extra on her video shoot, at LA's Standard Hotel.
Encinias told The Sun: “She went into the pool topless - her boobs were exposed and she had a drink in her hand and a hat on with sunglasses.
"When I started kissing her I did everything in my power - from my previous experience of kissing girls - not to mess it up...Her body was very nice. It was sexual and sensual kissing. It took some effort to perfect. She is a great kisser - I’d actually say a phenomenal kisser."
Encinias also claimed that Spears attempted to seduce him in her hotel suite, saying: "I found Britney lying on the bed with her knees up and just a pair of pink panties on."
However, he was forced to spurn her advances when one of his friends collapsed in the hotel's swimming pool.
