Oh you’re so vain
“a month or two after i started working out, i wore a sleeveless turtleneck to work. regis was like, ‘pipa, your arm muscles look incredible!’ it was the first time anybody had ever said anything to me about my muscles. and because i am a vain person, that’s all i needed to hear to stay with it.”
On starting her fitness regime
“i figured, i work in an industry where there’s a stylist and a makeup artist—they’ll make me look fine but i began feeling tired-just playing in the park with my kids wore me down…so i started walking on a treadmill. then i started jogging on a treadmill. then i began jogging outside. now i’m running outside, three to five miles, and taking toning classes.
On her best confidence-boosting trick
“i buy jeans that are tight in the rear end. i’m not kidding. i treat my cheeks like breasts in a push-up bra. i just reach down in there, lift them up and push them together. and they’ll stay put if the jeans are tight enough in the seat.”
On regrets
“i used to smoke, so lung cancer is the thing that keeps me awake at night. i worry, did i quit in enough time? did i do it for too long? it’s one of those things where i think, boy, what a foolish thing i did. i’m not from the generation where you can go, ‘oh, i didn’t know it was bad for me.’ no. everybody knew it was bad.”
On charity
“regis’s heart scare was a reminder to stay on top of the issue. as women, we’re more interested in stuff that affects us immediately rather than thinking long-term. i also support the heart for women act, which asks the government for funding for women and heart disease awareness.”
On marriage and pregnancy weight
“when i was pregnant with my first son and i gained 68 pounds, mark made me feel like the queen of sheba every day – ‘you’re so beautiful, you’re so gorgeous.’… at this point, we’ve been married too long for him to say, ‘oh, you look so hot in that!”

Lovebirds Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted on a secret getaway last weekend.
Jake and Reese checked into the Carneros Inn in California’s scenic Napa Valley on Sunday night.
They were spotted picking up the keys for one of the hotel’s cottages, nestled among 27 acres of endless rows of grape vines, unspoiled farmland, and scenic apple orchards.
“They went in but we didn’t see them surface until Monday evening,” said a guest.

Nicole Richie’s star-studded baby shower have just gone out.
According to the notice, the event will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, and is being planned by Mindy Weiss, wedding planner to the stars.
The shower is being given by Nicole’s mother, Brenda. The invite also says the shower is being thrown by her sister Sophia and her “loving friends” Paris Hilton and Masha Gordon.
In Touch also revealed that Nicole and boyfriend Joel Madden are having a boy, and that the shower would be at a Beverly Hills estate with music by DJ Samantha Ronson. Also, the menu will include some of Nicole’s favorite foods — including sushi, coconut shrimp, lobster, lemon-pepper chicken, fruit and cake. Best wishes, Nicole and Joel!

Jennifer Lopez has decided to take a break from her hectic singing and acting career after a recent health scare made her worry about suffering a miscarriage.
The Latino star, who announced that she was pregnant with her first child with husband Marc Anthony last week, was taken into hospital after she spotted blood in her urine.
Lopez's doctor then ordered her to cut down on the amount of work she has been doing after months of touring around the US with her new album.
A source said: "She's petrified that something could go wrong (with her pregnancy). [The hospital visit] really shook her up. If she lost the babies, her life would be shattered."
Reports claim J-Lo's mother, Guadalupe, has also been worried about her excessive working habits. The insider added: "Her mum's constantly been on the phone, telling her to calm down. Guadalupe's very no-nonsense and she's told Jen that she needs to take some time out of the limelight to enjoy her pregnancy and her babies when they arrive."

Thinking the guy was kidding, the kid aimed for the trash bin – but stopped when the guy waved a $100 bill and said: “This is for you.” Instantly, the cup was surrendered for cash – and its elated new owner whooped in triumph as he inspected his instant collectible with “BRITNEY” marked in black and…(eBay ALERT, folks!)…a pretty pink lipstick smear.

Heidi Klum has claimed that she would like to introduce a regular naked day for her and husband Seal.
Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show in the US, the model said she had been inspired by Christina Aguilera's confession that she has 'Naked Sundays'.
Heidi Klum said: "You know Christina Aguilera has 'Naked Sundays'? I might have to copy her and do that.
"I'll do 'Seal and Heidi's Naked Sunday'. One day in bed without our clothes on."

Halle Berry is devastated after learning boyfriend Gabriel Aubry plans to remain in New York following the birth of their first child next year (08). The Oscar-winner, who is five months pregnant, planned to raise the tot at her home in Los Angeles - but her French Canadian partner of two years reportedly wants to reside on America's east coast to further his modelling career.
A source says, "She's been shocked by the news. Halle had always assumed Gabriel would move to the west coast so they could live together as one happy family. If Gabriel stays in New York, it'll mean long separations. She knows their relationship won't survive and has been begging him to change his mind." But the 41-year-old actress is determined her baby will not experience the distant relationship she had with her own father.
The source adds, "Halle hardly knew her own dad and they were still estranged at the time of his death, so she's desperate for her daughter to have a father she sees regularly."
