Beyonce Knowles is set to shock her hardened fans - with a country and western-inspired album.
The Crazy In Love hitmaker has reportedly enlisted the help of award winning singer/songwriter Amanda Ghost - the creative force behind James Blunt hit You're Beautiful - for the project.
According to sources, the singer opted for a new musical direction after singing a country version of her hit Irreplaceable at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last weekend (17/18Nov07).
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Beyonce wants to try something completely different. She's a fan of country music and thought that would be an interesting and exciting way to go. She contacted Amanda early this week and she is going over to work with her on it."

The Mexican actress, famed for her curvy figure, used to be flat-chested when she was younger and regularly prayed for a bigger bust.
She even put her hands in holy water to try and make a miracle happen.
She said: "My mother and I stopped at a church during a road trip we were making from our home in Mexico.

'Heroes' star Hayden Panettiere wants to become a lesbian and have a "love affair" with Angelina Jolie.
The stunning 18-year-old actress - who plays indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet in the hit US TV series - would love somebody to start a rumour about her sexuality and ideally would like to be romantically linked to the 'Tomb Raider' star.
Hayden joked: "Well, if you want to make me a lesbian, that's totally fine with me. That would be a pretty funny rumour. I'd love to have a love affair with Angelina.
"And there are other beautiful girls I like too - Charlize Theron, oh my God! Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous too, and Jessica Alba."

American socialite Paris Hilton checked out Shanghai fashions, cuddled stuffed pandas and sauntered along the famous Bund waterfront on Thursday while visiting China's most style-conscious city for the MTV Style awards.
"Shanghai looks like the future!" Hilton said in a news conference at the Hyatt on the waterfront, one of the newest landmarks in a city teeming with new skyscrapers.
The celebrity heiress, author, singer, perfume designer and reality TV star was spending two days touring China's commercial capital before Friday night's gala awards for Chinese style and fashion trendsetters.
A visit to the city's jam-packed Yu Yuan Garden gave her an authentic taste of Shanghai's juicy steam buns and flower tea and the crowding common in the city of more than 20 million.
But Hilton, unfazed by the throngs of onlookers, carried on with her shopping, pausing to hug an elderly lady and to pose in several dresses by Chinese designer Lu Kun, one of the city's hottest new fashion stars.

A source close to the couple said that she wasn't ready to jump into another marriage:
"Reese says it is just too soon after her divorce from Ryan to think about marrying again. She is madly in love with Jake, but her divorce just became final, and she doesn't want to rush into anything."
Jake had planned a romantic day before he got up the courage to ask her to marry him. They strolled around the Piazza di Spagna, visited the Trinita dei Monti, walked up the Spanish Steps, and had an intimate lunch at the Piazza Campo di Fiori. During the evening, they climbed up the Monte Mario hill, and then had dinner at the Zodiaco café, which is where Gyllenhaal got down on one knee.
Despite his best efforts, Reese turned him down. She is reportedly being cautious for the sake of her two children, Ava (8) and Deacon (4). Reese is hoping to take things slowly.
A source also noted, "They are madly in love. They really are the perfect couple."
So while Jake's hopes may have been dashed, the couple is still going strong and there may yet be a marriage in their future some time down the road.

The 81st Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took place Thursday morning, with numerous stars on hand to help celebrate the festivities.
Among the guests of the three hour parade, which was hosted by The Today Show cast of Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira and Al Roker, was actress Ashley Tisdale.
High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale attended the 81st annual New York City's Macy's Thanksgiving parade, stylishly attired in a double breasted black trench coat with brass buttons, a black captain hat and knee length fur boots.

The Gimme More singer is dating waiter Michael Marchand, who works at exclusive Los Angeles eatery Mirabelle, where the hot new couple dined together in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A source said: "Michael came in a little after midnight, and she came in right after wearing black and dark glasses. They were being discreet. Forty-five minutes later, they left the restaurant together. He was charming - he made Britney laugh and looked at her with this secret smile. They left in separate cars."
When questioned about his romance with Britney, the tall, dark, handsome waiter replied: "I can't talk about that right now."
Britney, 25, instantly fell for Michael while dining at the trendy restaurant earlier this month.
A source added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Their chemistry was immediate. He's very attracted to her. They're always texting each other."
Meanwhile, the singer celebrated Thanksgiving a day early with her sons Sean Preston, two and 17-month-old Jayden James yesterday.
The boys will celebrate the US holiday, which takes place today, with their father Kevin Federline.
