The child, who weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces, was born at 9:55 p.m. Monday in Atlanta.
They named the boy Usher Raymond V.
"We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son," Usher said in a statement. "What a blessing!"
It is the first child for the couple, who wed in a civil ceremony in Atlanta on September 1.

The heiress is reportedly telling friends that she decided to adopt from China after her recent visit there.
A ‘source’ tells UK’s Daily Mirror: “Paris knows Britney won’t be allowed to adopt, she can’t even look after her own kids. But she’s stolen her thunder.”

The 26-year old actress Natalie Portman not only portrays incredible characters on screen (nevermind the speed bump that was the Star Wars prequels) but also uses her power off-screen to support and promote some incredible campaigns and initiatives. The UK Observer Magazine recently sat down with the star — over a veggie lunch and tap water — to discuss her career and passion for giving back. Here are some highlights:
On not being a vegan and recycling clothing:
“She’s not a vegan, though she has been trying to phase out eggs. ‘But I don’t think I could do it. It’s really hard for traveling, especially if you want to maintain your protein levels.’ She refuses to wear leather, but will wear wool. ‘Although I don’t think I have a lot of wool clothes. And I sort of made a no-buying-anything-new rule. I just have a lot of stuff,’ she says with a tiny pout. ‘And I figured: look, if I need something, if my running shoes have holes in them and I don’t have running shoes any more, then I’ll get new ones. But you know, I have 40 T-shirts, I have 20 pairs of jeans - you get so forced into believing [that you need all this stuff]. Maybe it’s a New York thing.’”
On selecting FINCA as her charity of choice:
“‘Well, yeah, because I wanna do something meaningful. They ask you to do 4,000 charity things a year and all of them are worthy. But I don’t think you can really make an impact unless you do [just] one thing and really devote yourself. And it’s been important to me.’”
On the environment:
‘There’s this book I love called The Future of Life by EO Wilson, about the environment. It’s basically aimed at business people who just think about infinite possibilities, infinite expansion - but the earth is limited! It’s very short term to think we can just accumulate and make as much as we can. If you wanna think longer-term economically, there are better ways.’
Halle Berry
Baby daddy: Male model Gabriel Aubry
Descriptions like "over 40" and "with child" aren´t usually things we associate with looking hot, but Halle pulls off both better than anyone we´ve seen. Plus, we admire the guts it must have taken to walk into the maternity store and say, "Give me a big stack of the lowest-cut dresses you have."
Christina Aguilera
Baby daddy: Husband Jordan Bratman
She probably won´t be getting dirty in any boxing rings for a while, but Xtina hasn´t resorted to a housecoat and slippers, either. Plus, there´s a good chance her doctor has told her to take out her piercings because of the bun in her oven, which is a plus for guys that aren´t into body mods.
Heidi Klum
Most recent baby daddy: Pop singer Seal
Heidi has already pumped out three offspring, but each time her torso has rapidly reverted to its original toned and insanely hot state. Even when she was ultra-pregnant and hosting Project Runway—we TiVo it for the girlfriend—she was making maternity clothes look like Victoria´s Secret outfits…with crotch pads.
Brooke Burke
Most recent baby daddy: French actor David Charvet
It has been well documented how much we love Brooke, even when she gets all wonky in the midsection. She is someone for whom we would be more than happy to make the long trip to the supermarket at 4 A.M. on a Thursday to get Cheetos and cookie.
Gwen Stefani
Baby daddy: Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale
Cute has always been Gwen´s thing, so pregnancy really works for her. It just gives her more real estate to fill up with wacky henna tattoos and bracelets. Plus, it put a little color into her otherwise—and we mean this in the sexiest way possible—corpse-like complexion.
Angelina Jolie
Baby daddy: Brad Pitt
You could put Angelina through a wood chipper and the bits that come out the other side would probably still be sexy as hell. Angelina carried her kid like a champ, even if it was a little more taxing on her body than all that adopting she had done in the past.
Naomi Watts
Baby daddy: Actor Liev Schreiber
Naomi has always been hot, but a little on the scrawny side for our tastes. Once she got pregnant, she carried that baby weight in all the right places (boobs).
Jaime Pressly
Baby daddy: DJ Eric Calvo
Jaime has the pregnant white trash act down to a science, and there´s something really hot about that. She and her arsenal of surprisingly revealing maternity clothes were the main reasons we tuned in to My Name Is Earl before the writers´ strike put it on hold. Plus, she carries her big belly and huge boobs a lot better than Elvis Presley ever did.
Monica Bellucci
Baby daddy: Actor Vincent Cassel
It probably has something to do with her Italian heritage, but Monica has never been shy about showing off her figure, and pregnancy did nothing to change that. Her nude pregnant magazine shoot made Demi Moore´s look about as hot as a Cat Fancy cover by comparison.

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale revealed she is a big fan of Jessica Simpson on a US music show.
Tisdale, 22, spoke of her admiration of Simpson on MTV’s TRL. She said: “I was on tour with Jessica and it was amazing. I was a big Newlyweds fan and she was so nice. I got to hang out with her. I told her I love her, and she said congratulations to me for my High School Musical success.”
Tisdale also revealed how she has been performing in front of thousands of people from a young age.
The star said: “I think my first performance was when I was 8-years-old in front of about a thousand people. I was young but it was what I always wanted to do.”
Goddamn those jeans are tight! NICE ass!

And Here’s the long awaited list of the Top 11 Scandals of 2007:
1) Miss New Jersey
Claiming she was being blackmailed, Miss New Jersey went on the offense. Amy Polumbo appeared on TV in July to reveal photos she admitted were not “ladylike.” Miss Teen USA officials decided not to strip her of her title.
2) Vanessa Hudgens
When nude photos of Vanessa Hudgens surfaced in September, there were rumors that Disney would dump the ‘High School Musical’ star. Hudgens apologized and now she’s said to be on board for the third film in the series. I’ll believe it when I see it.
3) Sen. David Vitter
Sen. David Vitter had the dubious distinction of being the biggest name on a Washington escort service’s phone list. In July, the Louisiana Republican said God and his wife had forgiven him for “a very serious sin.” He remains in office.
4) Marion Jones
Three-time Olympic gold medalist Marion Jones tearfully admitted in October that she used steroids. Jones pleaded guilty to felony charges, gave up the medals she won at the 2000 Games and retired from her sport.
5) Mike Nifong
The rape case against Duke lacrosse players blew up in his face, and Mike Nifong went from prosecutor to prosecuted. He was disbarred, resigned as Durham County’s district attorney and served one day in jail for contempt of court.
6) Scooter Libby
“Scooter” Libby was convicted in March of lying in the CIA leak case. Vice President Cheney’s former chief of staff was sentenced to 30 months in prison. President Bush commuted the sentence, calling it “excessive.”
7) Sgt. John Shannon
Wounded Iraq War vet Staff Sgt. John Shannon testified in March about patient neglect and shoddy conditions at Walter Reed Medical Center. The scandal cost the hospital commander and Army secretary their jobs.
8) Lisa Nowak (aka Crazy Diaper Wearin Bitch)
Lisa Nowak’s NASA career crashed in February when she was arrested in Orlando. Cops say she raced 1,000 miles to kidnap a rival for the love of a fellow astronaut. Whether that drive was diaper-assisted is in dispute.
9) Don Imus
10) Michael Vick
Michael Vick’s reputation was mauled by pit bulls in July. He faces prison after pleading guilty to dogfighting. The Falcons quarterback is suspended and stands to lose tens of millions in ad deals and bonus money.
11) Sen. Larry Craig
“I am not gay.” So said Sen. Larry Craig after he was caught in an airport men’s room sex sting. The Idaho Republican pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. At first, he said he intended to quit. Now he says he’ll finish his term.

Yummy legs! WOW, she looks good in that dress.
Kristin Cavallari at Anastasia Eyebrow Salon in Beverly Hills
Ageless beauty, Nicole Kidman, insists she has never undergone plastic surgery despite possessing a wrinkle-free face and perfectly mono-toned white porcelain skin.
Another day, another upskirt. Classy Paris Hilton.
Paris Hilton With Boyfriend Alex Vaggo in Hollywood
Rihanna led the pack of trendsetters this year, but she may have Miley Cyrus, Rachel Bilson, Emma Watson or the "Gossip Girls" nipping at her heels in 2008.
That's the prediction of Gina Kelly, the fashion director of Seventeen who helped pick the "Style Stars" for the magazine's December/January issue.
In some ways, it's the younger generation of celebrities who enjoy the most influence over the fashion world because they're the ones willing to take the risks that inspire new trends, says Kelly.
"All the people we picked are true to their own style," she adds.
"I love her because she's not like anyone else out there," Kelly says. "It starts with her haircut. When she started out, it was long and pretty, but when she got the asymmetrical bob, she just started to break out - and then she got a cool new wardrobe to match her cool new hair."
Other winners in Seventeen's first Style Star awards were Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Alba, Jordin Sparks, Fergie, Lauren Conrad, Ashley Simpson and Lil Mama.
