Brad Renfro, the young actor best known for his role in the legal thriller 'The Client', has died. He was 25.
Reuters reports that Renfro was found dead in Los Angeles on Monday.
Los Angeles County Coroner's spokesman Ed Winter said that Renfro's cause of death was under investigation.
He said: "I can confirm that Brad Barron Renfro is deceased. He was found unresponsive in a residence ... Paramedics responded and he was pronounced dead at 9am (Pacific Time)."
Renfro, whose other films included 'The Jacket', 'Ghost World', 'Bully' and 'Apt Pupil', had battled drug problems in recent years and pleaded guilty in 2006 to charges of trying to buy heroin.
After entering his guilty plea he was ordered into a drug treatment programme and placed on probation for three years.

New mum Christina Aguilera has paid tribute to her husband and her fans in a touching new film posted on her website.
The singer, who became a first-time mum on Saturday, has placed never-before-seen home video footage of her wedding day preparations online together with clips from her past videos.
Some of the clips featured Aguilera wearing nothing but her wedding day lingerie, applying her make-up before the November 2005 nuptials.
Aguilera's song tribute to husband Jordan Bratman, 'Save Me From Myself', was used as the score for the montage of clips.
In a touching message accompanying the short film, Aguilera writes: "In honour of our love for each other and our growing family, I have put together a special video for the song 'Save Me From Myself'… This video is very dear to me as it includes actual footage from our personal wedding video!
"Just a little something to say "thank you" for your undying love and support. It is in no small part because of you that I live such a blessed and wonderful life!"

A four-year-old video of Tom Cruise talking about his belief in Scientology has been leaked on the internet.
The nine-minute video's release comes as Andrew Morton published a book about the Hollywood star, alleging that the 45-year-old actor ranks second in command in the Church of Scientology.
"This is a fair, even-handed treatment of Tom Cruise's life," the British author, who shot to fame with the publication of Diana: Her True Story, said. "He's a man who deserves attention."
The church responded with a 15-page statement, calling Morton's book Tom Cruise: An Unauthorised Biography "a bigoted, defamatory assault replete with lies" and saying Cruise "is a Scientology parishioner and holds no official or unofficial position in the Church hierarchy."
Rogers and Cowan, the publicity firm that represents Cruise, issued a statement criticising Morton for not interviewing "one person who has known or worked with Tom" in the past 25 years. The statement also derides Morton for writing "outlandish and malicious lies to sell books."
The book's publication comes as a 2004 video of Cruise extolling Scientology's virtues made its way to the internet. The video was still on gossip website Gawker.com on Tuesday.
Cruise is shown speaking in great detail about the religion. He discusses his faith while the soundtrack to his Mission: Impossible films plays in the background.
"It's rough and tumble, and it's wild and woolly and it's a blast," he says. "It's a blast. It really is fun, because... there is nothing better than... going out there and fighting the fight and, suddenly you see, things are better."
"Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident, it's not like anyone else; as you drive past, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you're the only one that can really help."

“My favorite thing is cardio,” says Carrie. “It really helps the pounds melt off, and it gives me so much more energy. Now when I’m performing and running around the stage, it’s no big deal. Whereas before I was always gasping for breath. Working out has really paid off onstage.”
In what could be shaping up as the most unlikely award in the history of celebrity news, Paris Hilton will be honored by Harvard University.
The Harvard Lampoon, the world's oldest continuously published humor magazine, has reportedly named the paparazzi darling "Woman of the Year," according to United Press International.
Paris is reportedly scheduled to accept the award in front of a large Harvard student body in the middle of Harvard Square on February 6, according to Regent Releasing, who are behind her new comedy, "The Hottie and the Nottie." Her new film opens across the country on February 8.

Britney Spears' mystery trip to a San Fernando Valley, California church with paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib has been explained - she wanted ministers to pray for the return of her kids.
The troubled pop star briefly visited the Little Brown Church after blowing off a crucial custody hearing in a downtown Los Angeles court.
But while snappers desperately tried to follow the singer into the tiny church, Spears and her lover quickly managed to scribble prayer notes and slip them into a spiritual suggestion box.
Ghalib was caught posting his note and he didn't check to make sure it had gone all the way into box - allowing his former paparazzi colleagues to pull the paper out and read it.
It's reported he wrote, "Dear God, please give Britney her kids back." Spears lost all custody to her two young sons following an apparent breakdown at her home on 03 January (08) after she refused to hand her youngest son, Jayden James, back to his father Kevin Federline's minder after a visitation term had ended.
William Thomas Jr., a minister at the church, has revealed spirituality might pay off for Spears - he and his colleagues take the notes from the prayer box and ask God to hear them and act.

Alves, who is three months along, is doing well, the actor wrote.

The Spice Girls have launched Sport Relief 2008 by urging the nation to rise to the challenge and sign up for the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile.
There will be hundreds of mile events across the UK on Sunday 16 March and the girls are encouraging everyone to get involved and seek sponsorship.
"Signing up to do a mile for Sport Relief is such an easy thing to do," said Melanie Chisholm, 34.
"And it's great timing this year after the post-Christmas excesses."
The other four Spice Girls were quick to agree with the aptly named Sporty Spice.
"Whether you're young or old, fit or unfit, most people can do a mile in one way or another and help poor and vulnerable people in the process."
Sport Relief 2008 is all about challenging yourself, friends, family and colleagues to do something sporty to raise cash.

Kimora wanted to do the ad to show off her naked desire to get people to make dogs a part of their families—not leave them tied up outside or cooped up alone at home all day.
"You cannot just chain up an animal. The chains are heavy, it's cruel," she says. "Dogs need to run and play," she adds. That's why Kimora has teamed up with PETA urging dog guardians to "play with them, take them for long walks, don't ever chain or cage them."
Every day, millions of dogs are left chained and unattended in back yards across the U.S., shivering in the cold or panting from the heat. They are frequently denied even the most basic care, including adequate food, fresh water, shelter from the elements, and preventive, basic protection from tormenting parasites like fleas, ticks, flies, mosquitoes, and worms.
Dogs who are chained up outside are left to the mercy of both human and animal predators, with no way to escape. Living day after day in isolation causes these social, pack-oriented animals to suffer from loneliness and distress. Intensive confinement and a lack of socialization can drive dogs insane and make them dangerous.
In an exclusive interview with PETA, Kimora urges people to do whatever they can to help neglected, backyard dogs. “Everybody should do the best they can,” she says, “because a lot of little bests-you-can add up to a lot of saved animals.”

Fergie and fiancé Josh Duhamel have sparked pregnancy rumours after being given baby gifts.
Josh, who has been dating the 'London Bridge' singer for three years, was celebrating the 100th episode of his hit US TV show 'Las Vegas' when Mayor Oscar Goodman presented him with a pair of baby's shoes.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Mayor Goodman gave Josh a pair of baby Crocs sandals for his future baby with fiancée Fergie. Everyone is saying she is pregnant."
During the event, held at Las Vegas' Palms Casino Resort Hotel, Mayor Goodman also handed the key of the city to the cast.
Fergie has previously spoken of her desire to settle down and start a family.
She said: "It is one of my dreams to have babies with Josh. It will be so special when it happens."

Britney Spears allegedly wrote a suicide note just days before her recent public meltdown.
The troubled singer - who was hospitalised last week following a stand-off with police after she refused to hand her two young sons back to ex-husband Kevin Federline - claimed she would be better off dead as she struggles to live up to the high expectations placed on her.
A source is quoted by Britain's Sun newspaper as saying: "The letter was very sad. Britney talked about loneliness, how unfair life is and not being able to trust people.
"She wrote about how she will never be what people want her to be. She said, 'Perhaps it would be better if I was dead.'"
The note was found in the star's bathroom at her Los Angeles home by a friend.
Sources claim Britney - who lost all visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and 16-month-old Jayden James after the police stand-off - is suffering from manic depression, which causes her erratic behaviour.
One said: "Sometimes she misses drugs she takes for her problems. Sometimes she takes too many. Combined with her drinking, it makes her difficult to control.
Earlier this week, Britney allegedly threatened to commit suicide if she is forced into psychiatric care.
The 'Gimme More' singer insisted she would rather die than be put into hospital by her parents, Jamie and Lynne.
During a car ride round Los Angeles, where she was pursued by the paparazzi, she reportedly shrieked down the phone to a friend: "They're not sending me to the nut house! No one can make me go - and I'm not going.
"I'll kill myself before I let them lock me up again. So tell Mama and Daddy I said so. Oh my God, it's over for me."
