Michelle Trachtenberg is joining the "Gossip Girl" cast.
Trachtenberg will play Georgina Sparks, and will appear in several episodes on the hit CW series. The 22-year-old actress will be playing a snarky role.
Michelle Trachtenberg was on the critically acclaimed and cult hit Nickelodeon series “Pete & Pete” in 1993, and she is also best known for her role as Dawn Summers on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
Trachtenberg has two films coming out as well, she recently wrapped "Seventeen Again," with Zac Efron, and will be seen in "Kids in America."
The "Gossip" role was thought to be one that actress Mischa Barton coveted.

Elle Macpherson has signed up as a global brand spokesperson for cosmetics giant Revlon and will feature in print and TV advertising campaigns.
The 44-year-old supermodel's role will also involve her promoting women's counselling services and breast cancer research.
"Revlon is an iconic brand, bringing high quality products to women around the world and is complementary to my values. I am proud to join Revlon in its celebration of women and in its long-term commitment and support for education and research to advance women's health and particularly to fight women's cancers," she said.
The Australian beauty - who is nicknamed 'The Body' - will join Halle Berry and Jessica Alba in endorsing Revlon.
Revlon's president David Kennedy added: "Elle's special qualities as a businesswoman, beautiful and talented model, actress and mother represent the essence of the Revlon brand."

National Enquirer Executive Editor Barry Levine said that the whole process had become a big business nowadays, with magazines going the extra mile to make sure the paparazzi don't obtain the photos.
"It's become big business now. It's outrageous, they've gotten very sophisticated. The rights are bought up now even before the celeb enters the hospital. They hire extra security so it's impossible to obtain a photo illegally," the New York Post quoted him, as saying. He added that the people who would command the highest price would be Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt.
Added American Media Editorial Director Bonnie Fuller: "If J.Lo really did get $6 million, then I think Angelina can now command 8 million USD. I can't think at this point who could command more money than Brangelina."

Joss Stone is looking forward to a forthcoming major film role that reportedly sees her indulging in a lesbian kiss.
The singer, 20, has spoken of her excitement at being involved in the British movie Snapper, in which she plays a Red-Coat-style entertainer at a holiday camp.
The script requires the sultry-voiced starlet to perform what she describes as a "long, lingering French kiss" with a woman.
The film also stars 47-year-old actress Caroline Quentin, best known for her roles in Men Behaving Badly and Jonathan Creek.
Stone, who has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, said of the film: "There are things that are going to really push the boundaries - and that excites me."
The singer, who hails from Devon, can currently be seen on screens in a seductive reworking of the Cadbury's Flake television adverts.
She recorded a bluesy version of the famous chocolate jingle.

Katharine McPhee has been named as the new spokesperson for Neutrogena.
The American Idol finalist has signed a two-year endorsement deal with the skincare brand to become the new flawless face of their anti-acne product range.
"We are delighted to confirm that actress-singer Katharine McPhee is working with Neutrogena on an innovative new project that brings consumers the next generation of skincare," a spokesperson from the company told E!
The 24-year-old singer joins the ranks of other beautiful young ladies such as Jennifer Garner, Hayden Panettiere, Mischa Barton, Vanessa Hudgens and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who have all endorsed Neutrogena in the past.
Katharine, who tied the knot to Nick Cokas in February, has already shot the first ads in Los Angeles last week, which are expected to be shown from May.
She has also announced that she is starting work on a second album, which will feature collaborations with Canadian songwriter David Foster.

E! Online talked to the producer of the film, Brad Wyman. Wyman stated "Yes, I am doing it with Lindsay."
This is one of the biggest roles yet for Lohan following her comeback from rehab.

Rihanna's new tour may be titled A Girls' Night Out, but perhaps it should be renamed to The Do-Gooders' Night Out.
The 20-year-old Grammy-winning songstress has revealed how she plans to use her star power with a few US dates to benefit her charity, The Believe Foundation.
"When I was young and I would watch television and I would see all the children suffering, I always said when I grow up, I want to help," she told People.com after performing at Chicago's Vision nightclub.
"Not long after, I was in the position where I could help. I started to visit all these children's hospitals and I have a soft spot for kids. I just want to help and make sure they are happy. They can come to a Rihanna concert or have toys or gifts at Christmas."
The charity helps children who are less fortunate - by providing medical attention, school supplies to kids in poorly funded schools, toys and clothes.
"As a kid, the thing I hated most was disappointment, so I never want to disappoint kids," Rihanna added.
"I always want to put a smile on their faces. Kids are the future."

Ashlee Simpson will debut as a celebrity designer, with the launch of a T-shirts collection for Wet Seal, on April 22, the day her third studio album, Bittersweet World, is being released.
The range will feature designs inspired by Ashlee's personality, sense of style and album artwork.
"I was inspired by so many fun, wonderful things as I was recording Bittersweet World and it's been great to carry through those inspirations into these new shirt designs," says Ashlee.
"I hope my fans love this album and rock out in these shirts!"

In the April 7 issue, Star exclusively reports that Katie is finally cracking under the strain of life with Tom Cruise.
When Katie recently lunched at her favorite restaurant, L.A.'s Joan's on Third, it was obvious that something was terribly wrong. She seemed exhausted, her skin was pale, and she looked feeble and emaciated. "She gave us a weak smile and wave before leaving out the back door," says an eyewitness at the restaurant. Once outside, a confused and unsteady Katie braced herself against the doorframe before her bodyguard carefully guided her into a waiting SUV.
Dizzy spells like this have become a frighteningly common occurrence for Katie over the past few weeks. As one source explains to Star, Katie has been suffering from splitting headaches that make her see black spots and feel faint. Another problem? Her weight. Although she's already rail thin, she feels pressure to be even slimmer and is obsessive about dieting.
Katie may never admit it, but sources say her superstar husband may be contributing to the debilitating headaches. His high energy is often hard to keep up with — and that, paired with her intense need to live up to his expectations, is really taking its toll, both mentally and physically.
"Katie doesn't get enough sleep — and hasn't for months now," says one insider. "She's tired and drained much of the day because Tom is so wired, and they stay awake until after midnight. He has boundless energy, and she just can't compete."
To complicate matters even further, while Tom goes off for days at a time ("His rule is 'You can be with me, but don't ask about it,'" says a source), Katie is overseeing the interior design of their lavish $35 million Beverly Hills mansion. "To him, the home is a status symbol," says a source, "so it's on Katie's shoulders to pull off something beyond magnificent, something Tom can brag about. She's giving herself headaches thinking about it and making herself sick.
