Tisdale, who plays the ever-so-proud-of-herself Sharpay Evans in the "HSM" franchise, is in talks to star in a remake of the 1989 movie "Teen Witch," according to Variety.
She would play Louise Miller, the not-so-popular teen who discovers she’s a descendant of witches with supernatural powers. The role was originally played by Robyn Lively.
The script for the remake has yet to be written.
Tisdale, who will reprise her role as Sharpay in the upcoming "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," is also getting ready to begin filming on "They Came From Upstairs,” a comedy which follows a group of teenagers who must defend their Maine summer home from a group of aliens.
Besides her big screen ventures, Tisdale is also in talks with FremantleMedia North America (the same company which produces “American Idol”) for a new TV project.
No details were available on what type of project may be in the works for the young starlet.

Kate Beckinsale has been "driven to despair" by rumors she has undergone breast enlargement surgery.
The "Pearl Harbor" star has now vowed not to answer any questions about the rumored surgery, because she is sick of talking about it.
Kate Beckinsale was reported to have opted for a figure-enhancement operation in 2005, after she was photographed sporting a noticeably larger chest. But the 34-year-old insists her breasts grew naturally when she gained weight for her role in 2005 movie "The Aviator."
She says, "The boob job thing has driven me to despair. I'm not discussing my breasts with anyone but my husband and my daughter from now on.
"I think once you start saying, 'No, I haven't' too many times, it sounds as if you're protesting too much."

Actress/singer Hilary Duff has denied reports she and Lindsay Lohan don't get on - insisting any feuds between the pair were confined to their teens.
Duff was accused of stealing Lohan's then boyfriend, pop star Aaron Carter, in 2002, but the 20-year-old insists they have both moved on since then.
She says: "Supposedly, I stole Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend (Carter). We were, like, 13! And I've never stolen anyone's boyfriend! I don't know how you do that!
"She was talking about it and I wasn't. It made us both look bad and put up a big weirdness. Really, she was just a girl my age. We are fine now, by the way."

Ashlee Simpson is remaining tight-lipped about the intimate details of her engagement to Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz.
The songstress was happy to share her good news with their fans, revealing that they plan to marry on Pete's website last week.
Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, said they wanted their fans to be the first ones to know about the news.
"We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I," said the two in a joint statement posted on FriendsorEnemies.com.
"Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged."
However, Ashlee remained coy on Ryan Seacrest's US radio show, saying that she wants to keep the exact details of the proposal "scared".
"But I will tell you it was very thoughtful and he did a great job," she added.
She was, however, happy to show off her "huge" diamond engagement ring.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have dismissed reports they could be planning a trial separation as "absolutely false".
Yesterday two US gossip magazines claimed the pair were set to part ways, with Katie taking daughter Suri to New York.
A Source told one of the magazines: "Of course Katie still loves him [Tom], but she does often feel like the little wife that has to sit there quietly and smile serenely at everything he says."
But today representatives denied the stories.
A spokeswoman for Katie said: "She and her husband enjoy a close and loving relationship."
The same was said for 45-year-old Tom, whose representative said: "They are happily together. This is completely false and irresponsible reporting."
Reports of cracks in the couple's relationship have been on-going from their first date in 2005.

Socialite Paris Hilton has defended her small breasts, insisting she likes them just the way they are.
The 27-year-old has vowed never to undergo breast enlargement surgery, as she doesn't like the appearance of a larger bust.
She tells New York magazine, "I like how mine are, I don't like big boobs."
And Hilton uses pop star/actress Jessica Simpson as an example, declaring the singer's more prominent chest to be unattractive.
She adds, "I think they're too ... big."

Britney Spears’ on/off relationship with photographer Adnan Ghalib is very much back on – according to Kathy Griffin.
The star of My Life on the D-List – who recently accompanied the British paparazzo on a trip to a Victoria's Secret store for a future episode of her reality show – dishes on the couple’s continued relationship to a U.S. magazine.
“As far as I know, Britney is still attracted to him,” she tells In Touch.
She adds that she was "shocked" by “the astonishing number of calls Adnan took from a ‘private caller’ whose name rhymes with Prlitney Splears” during their L.A. shopping jaunt.
It was reported that Britney ditched Adnan in March after finding incriminating texts on his mobile phone.
They have not been seen in public together since the singer's father, Jamie Spears, gained control of her affairs earlier this year.

Solange Knowles has offered teen mum-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears words of support - insisting she has to ignore negative comments and concentrate on becoming a good mother.
Knowles states she knows the challenge of being a famous young mum after she gave birth to her son Daniel in 2004 at the age of 18-years-old.
And she tells Britney Spears' pregnant younger sibling to be strong, urging her to focus on her unborn tot and not the criticism she faces for having a child so young.
She tells U.S. website People.com, "I'm sure a lot of people perceived that I was gonna be a young, irresponsible mom. I think that there are some moms who are 35 who are just as irresponsible."
"You just have to make the best decisions for you. You have to decide what's best for you. Who are we to say what's right and wrong for a person?"
