Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are set to marry.
The US talk show host and the former 'Ally McBeal' actress - who have been dating for four years - will tie the knot after the California Supreme Court overruled the state's ban on gay marriage.
Ellen made the announcement during the filming of her TV show yesterday (15.05.08), where she was given a standing ovation by the audience.
Speaking about the change in law, Ellen said: "I'm thrilled that the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on gay marriage. I can't wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we'll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote."
Ellen has previously spoken about her love for Portia, saying the blonde beauty completes her.
She said: "I could say the same thing I've said in every relationship, 'I'm happy.' But there's happiness and there's love, and then there's completion.
"It doesn't take away from any of the relationships that I've had, because I've had amazing relationships. But I feel like I found my perfect fit."

Very pregnant Angelina Jolie took center stage yesterday on Day 2 of the Cannes Film Festival to promote her animated flick, “Kung Fu Panda.”
Jolie is the voice of an assertive tigress and martial arts maestro in the Dreamworks film, which also features the voices of Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman.
The 27-year-old mama-to-be, Jessica Alba attempts to set the record straight on her career priorities in the new issue of Allure: Commerce over art every time, unless there's a bikini involved.
When asked why she hasn't appeared in more independent, art-house fare, the expectant star gives a refreshingly candid answer, if not one that'll likely keep Sundance at bay for quite some time.
"To me, box office is the most important thing," she says. "If the movie makes money, then I'm fine."
You gotta give the girl some credit for honesty.
"I grew up not having a lot. I'm really happy to be making money, not depending on a man, and not having to suffer to survive in this business. Struggling is not fun. Been there, done that."
Despite her share of skimpily clad roles, Alba grouses about being objectified.
"They always play up your sexuality, because that's what gets men into the theaters," she says. "And I never really gave a s--t about all that stuff!"
Though not, it should be said, due to any prudish reservations about the topic.
"I don't think sex is a big deal. I hated the hypocrisy of it. Men can do whatever, and it's acceptable."
There again Alba is putting her money where her mouth is, possibly winning over a more feminist base, but effectively writing herself out of any future safe-sex endorsement campaigns. Not that there's any money in PSAs, anyway.
"I can't say it was a total accident, because you're aware of when you're being careful and when you're not," the knocked-up star says of the bun in her ever-expanding oven. "It just happened so soon!"
"It," of course, being her gestating celebuspawn with fiancé Cash Warren, a pregnancy that Alba is the first to admit hasn't gone entirely smoothly.
"I kicked him out, but it wasn't like that—totally. When you're pregnant, your emotions are more tense. If the shoes are in the wrong place, you kind of lose your mind. Then he just laughs, gives me a hug and tells me it's okay."

Judd says she once even skipped an entire week of school as a child while her mom, country music star Naomi Judd, was away touring. "I didn't have a ride and I'd gotten ashamed of calling friends," she said. "I had my first childhood depression at eight - severe, intense, hole-in-the-soul loneliness. No one noticed."

Gwyneth Paltrow is looking a little unusual on the cover of the new V magazine. She generally tends to look very straight-up polished, but this is wacky for her.
In the interview she gave to V Magazine she talks about her macrobiotic diet.
I was macrobiotic for about three or four years, but when I got pregnant with Apple I wanted french fries, grilled cheese, and yoghurt, so it kind of went out the window. I couldn’t look at brown rice. It made me throw up. But being macrobiotic is basically about eating local, organic, seasonal food that isn’t processed, and that’s how I eat now, so it’s not that different. I haven’t eaten meat for about fifteen years. I eat fish, a little bit of dairy — not much milk — but I love cheese. We’ll make chocolate chip cookies and eat them, but sugar makes me feel pretty bad. I have coffee and wine. I’ve got lots of lovely vices.

She has recently kicked her hair color up to this vibrant red. She’s also added some length and we have to say she’s never looked hotter. She’s gone from merely pretty to stand out gorgeous.
Singer Shania Twain has separated from her husband of 14 years, record producer Robert John 'Mutt' Lange.
A spokesperson for the singer told People magazine: "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."
Lange produced Twain's three major albums, which each sold over 10m copies in the United States.
The couple, who have always tended to avoid the media spotlight, have a six-year-old son called Eja.

Hope Jessica Alba’s baby is not one of those ones who learns by example!
The mum-to-be Jessica Alba displayed her sign language abilities while out shopping with her mother in Beverly Hills on Wedneday.
She says the show edited her voice to make it appear she was saying rude things about Kenny Rogers, Linda Ronstadt, Burt Reynolds and Johnny Carson. Parton says she's "never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated" in all her life.
She says, "In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth." The segment aired May 6th. Parton may sue. She says, "If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this."

Lindsay Lohan is just friends with DJ Samantha Ronson, her sister Ali Lohan has insisted.
Rumours have been rife Lindsay and openly gay Samantha are lovers, after they were seen cuddling and sporting love bites in France.
However, Ali has hit out at the speculation, saying: "They're best friends. It's pathetic what people say."
Ali and Lindsay's mother Dina echoed the sentiments, calling Samantha an "amazing girl" and adding: "It's so silly. We actually laugh about it now. It really does hurt but you develop a thick skin. You have to ignore it."

We knew this wouldn’t last… Kate Hudson blasted the rumors that she and Owen are engaged and want to get married and says they aren’t even together anymore! Apparently, it was another ugly break up and Owen’s friends say he is "heartbroken" all over again… I hope he has the help of a good BUB! Break up buddy.
He should have gone for Jennifer Aniston while he had the chance! I know she’s going to get dumped sooner rather than later, so I hope it’s not too late for them… they’ll meet up at the premiere soon!

Victoria Beckham and Paris Hilton went head to head to promote their latest projects in London yesterday.
Victoria was in Harrods to unveil her dVb fashion line while Paris popped into Selfridges to promote her latest CanCan fragrance.
Paris seemed to draw the biggest crowds with fans queuing up over night to bag themsleves one of the 150 bottles of the new perfume that were on offer.
A Selfridges source told the mirror: "There were thousands of fans in the middle of the road, never mind the hundreds queuing inside."
Meanwhile Victoria's fans decided to have a lie in before heading down to check out her new jeans designs in the early afternoon.
Harrods expected bigger crowds and even set aside provisions to keep the fans warm: "The blankets were left untouched as no one turned up until a couple of hours beforehand. It was probably the bad weather," explained a Harrods rep.
Perhaps it was the price of the dVb jeans that put people off- w the cheapest pair costing $680. But Victoria claimed it's well worth it as she did a bit of name dropping: "Everyone seems to love my jeans because they are so flattering. I don't force them on my friends. Naomi Campbell and Kate Beckinsale have got a pair now. But anyone can wear them."
