Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack died "just like her," according to a Los Angels County coroner spokesman.

The British screenwriter, 40, died from severe anemia and acute pneumonia - the same causes that killed Murphy last December, according to autopsy results.

"It is with great relief that Simon's preliminary autopsy findings have been released, so the media speculations can stop," Brittany's mother Sharon Murphy said in an issued statement. "As I was sure of, just like my daughter Brittany, there was no kind of drug overdose."

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said prescription drugs were found in Monjack's system, but not in lethal levels, CNN.com reported.

A full autopsy report will be released in about two weeks after one more test is completed, at the request of Monjack's family, Winter said.

Murphy, who died five months prior to Monjack, was killed by a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication.

The two were married for three years.
