Britney Spears' Twitter and MySpace accounts have apparently been hacked.
Messages on her Twitter profile Thursday purported to be from the 27-year-old pop star and claimed she worshipped the devil. The handful of unusual messages were deleted after Spears' management regained control of the account.
Her Twitter feed boasts more than 3.7 million followers and is updated by herself and her "team" of handlers. A message Thursday apologized for "any offense the hacker's messages caused."
Spears' MySpace account was taken over at about the same time.
Hacked messages have gone out from Spears' Twitter account before.
This time, Twitter users appeared to suspect something was up. The subject "donthackbritney" was one of the most popular topics on the site Thursday.

Some of the crowd in Perth reportedly left after just three songs on Friday, though Spears' promoter denies that.
The pop star is performing 15 concerts in Australia as part of the 'Circus' tour.

Britney, 27, was said to have hidden in her hotel room on Saturday following her performance on Friday night.
A representative for the star said: "Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it."
Fans protested about the high ticket prices and “impersonal” nature of the show.
Concertgoer Wendy Di Renzo, 36, said: "It was so impersonal. She did not interact with her audience. There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn't know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her."
Complaints against the ‘Gimme More’ singer also included that she never referred to Perth by name, instead giving a generic welcome to fans, saying: "What's up Australia?"
Another fan, who left the show early, said: "I want my money back or I want her to sing properly. The ticket cost me $200 and she lip-synched the whole thing."
Politicians in three Australian states – Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales – have now called for new laws to force music promoters to disclose whether a concert will be live or lip-synched beforehand.
Spears will next perform in Melbourne on November 11.

Britney Spears knows the secret to packing light – just leave your bras at home.
The Womaniser star's nipples were clearly pointing the way under her tight t-shirt as the singer surfaced in Perth, Western Australia, where she will kick off the latest leg of her Circus tour tonight.
She smiled and waved to photographers, apparently oblivious to the fact she was in desperate need of support.
Britney announced her arrival down under on her Twitter page, writing: "Longest flight ever but we had a great time. Really cool plane and the V staff took great care of us. So excited to be here!"

After a series of sneak peeks and teases on her Web site and Twitter, Britney Spears officially debuted the music video for her hit single "3" on Friday (October 30). The sexy, fast-paced clip for the song, which will be included on The Singles Collection when it's released next month, made its big debut on her site.
The video, shot by director Diane Martel earlier this month, is a series of glamour shots and dance breaks. The video opens with Britney spritzing herself with perfume and putting on mascara in a sparkly little black dress before it cuts to a shot of Britney holding her hair up provocatively and singing the song's sexy opening lines "1,2,3/ Not only you and me/ Got 180 degrees/ And I'm caught in between."
The video quickly becomes a montage of Britney doing what she does best: being sexy. Shots of the singer in black and white, wearing a halter-cut leotard in a steam-filled room, are cut with images of just her legs in lacy tights walking across the screen.
Britney also does a lot of dancing in close-up shots, where you can't fully see her whole body. In some of the dance sequences she's flanked by male dancers or standing in a lineup of sexy women who do acrobatics on a raised ballerina bar as she sashays around. There are a few moments in the video where Britney's personality shines. She smiles at the song's tongue-in-cheek lyrics, particularly when she finishes the song's bridge about loving multiple people at once.
The video ends with Britney looking directly into the camera before it fades to black. Late Thursday, before the video premiered, she tweeted, "Can't wait for ya'll to see my new video tomorrow morning. I think you're really going to like it!"

"Jason was great with the kids and you can tell Britney really trusts him," an eyewitness to the group's three-night getaway at the Tides Zihuatanejo resort in Mexico earlier this month, tells Us. "He would pick up Jayden if he wanted to be held, immediately calming the boy down."
And it is Trawick's calming influence over her sons that puts mom Spears at peace.
"He is absolutely fantastic with the boys," a Trawick pal enthuses. "When you see him with them, you wouldn't think for a moment that he wasn't their dad. He treats the kids like they are his own."
