Britney Spears has been given a public boost by her teenage sweetheart Justin Timberlake. As the troubled pop star fights for custody of her two young sons and attempts to salvage her career amid allegations of eating disorders and drug use, her famous ex has come to her defence in a new TV interview.
Timberlake appeared on Wednesday's (19Sep07) Oprah show in America, where he agreed to discuss something he rarely talks about - his ex-girlfriend. The awkward pop singer, choosing his words carefully, said,
"I haven't spoken to her in years. I mean, there's no ill will - I have nothing but love for her. "We dated each other at a time... We were teenagers, you know?" Asked to comment on Spears' public problems, her ex added, "I think she's a great person, and I don't know her as well as I did. What I do know about her is she has a huge heart."

Britney Spears has been ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week, according to court documents in her custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The order was issued Monday by a judge who required both parents to refrain from drinking and using drugs around their two young children and 12 hours before either cares for them. Only Spears was ordered to submit to testing.
"Based on the evidence presented, the court finds that there is a habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol" by Spears, Superior Court Judge Scott M. Gordon said in court documents.
Messages left with attorneys for Spears and Federline were not immediately returned.
The singer married Federline in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November, and the divorce became official July 30. The two have joint custody of their sons — Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 — but Federline is seeking a greater share of custody.
The judge also said Spears must meet for eight hours a week with a "parenting coach" who will observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills.
Both parents are prohibited from "making derogatory remarks" about each other in their children's presence, and from "using corporal punishment" to discipline them. Each must complete the court's "Parenting Without Conflict" class

Britney Spears has been banned from an exclusive hotel in Los Angeles after fellow guests complained about her behaviour, according to reports. The Toxic star is alleged to have shocked diners at the Chateau Marmont hotel's restaurant after she smeared food over her face - which led to her being thrown out of the establishment.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The diners were disgusted. You wouldn't expect that from a teenager in a fast food joint. Royalty have dined in this restaurant. Her behaviour was totally unacceptable." A source at the hotel adds, "Staff at the Chateau have been told she is not welcome. She constantly looked out of it when she came in and a few of the guests began to make noises."
The hotel acted before she made a big scene. No-one wants to be banned from staying at the Chateau.

Britney Spears has shocked again, flashing her panty-less private parts at a paparazzi photographer after her performance at Sunday night's (09Sep07) MTV Video Music Awards. Spears exposed herself while stepping into an awaiting limousine after leaving Las Vegas' Bellagio hotel, where she partied with brother Bryan after her embarrassing awards show performance. And while she was mocked for hitting the VMAs stage in just her undies, she made headlines for taking them off later - when she was caught without her pants by a WENN photographer.
It's not the first time Spears has been caught without underwear - in November last year (06) Britney revealed all to a photographer during a night out with party pal Paris Hilton (pictures here), just two months after giving birth to her second child Jayden James. Britney Spears' gaffe came just hours after she disappointed the VMA audience with a disjointed and critically panned comeback performance of her new single Gimme More - her first major public appearance in four years. A bystander tells WENN, "What is she thinking? She's a mother of two and here she is flashing her goods to the world!"

The singer wore a silver and black sparkly underwear set and knee-high black boots to debut her upcoming single Gimme More. The performance is the star's first major public appearance in four years. Britney Spears will open the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards according to the shows executive producer.
“I wanted to start the show in a very big and dramatic way, and she’s the one to do that,” VMA executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic tells MTV.com. “She’ll captivate everyone, and set the tone for rest of the night.”

Camera has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery for allegedly beating paparazzo Andrew Deetz after he got too close to Britney and her two kids as they left the spa of the Wynn Las Vegas.
Deetz filed a complaint against Camera and even accused Britney of threatening him, alleging that she yelled, “I am going to kill you!” and threw a baby bottle at him.
If convicted, Camera faces up to six months in jail, and or a $1,000 fine. No court date has been set.
