Insiders tell TMZ.com Spears had a "total meltdown" during the interview and accompanying photoshoot, refusing professional make-up and hair help and insisting her untrained friends style her.

Britney Spears has stunned pals with news she is expecting again. However, even more shocking is the speculation flying around among her friends that the pop singer doesn't know which one of her recent lovers is the father.
"She's been secretly filling her pals in on the good news since last week," an insider tells. "Britney is in shock herself, this definitely wasn't planned. But she's thrilled just the same."
Enjoying a renewed relationship with her two sons — Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, 10 months — after being separated from them during her rehab stint earlier this year, pals say Brit, 25, loves being a mum and welcomes the surprise pregnancy.
"She feels like she's raising her boys on her own and doing a fine job," a pal says. "Forget all the rehab drama. Brit's stronger now and being a great mother."

Pink has refused to write a song for troubled chart rival Britney Spears because she's an "entertainer" instead of a "real singer".
The outspoken pop star would prefer to pen material for artists like Amy Winehouse, whose brash attitude can do justice to her tracks.
She says: "Not because I don't like (Spears) - I do think she's crazy enough to do one of my songs.
But it's very hard for me to let go of my songs and the only people I write for are real singers - not that she's not a real singer, but she's more of an entertainer.
"When I mean real singers, I mean the likes of Lauryn Hill, Faith Hill - and I'd write for Amy Winehouse, because you need serious attitude to carry off the dumb stuff I write about."

Music producer Jonathan 'J.R.' Rotem has confirmed he dated Britney Spears just weeks after she separated from ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2006.
Rotem claims he and Spears decided to end their brief romantic involvement, which took place in December (06), for the sake of their careers. He tells U.S. magazine Blender,
"Britney and I were in a relationship. We were dating for about two weeks but decided for both our careers that it wouldn't be cool to have a romantic relationship. "She was really emotional and distressed at the time."
