Tate Modern to display nude picture of 10-year-old Brooke Shields Alongside Pornographic Images
A nude photograph of Brooke Shields at the age of ten is to be displayed at the Tate Modern.
The decision to display the photograph of the actress has shocked critics, who yesterday called for it to be withdrawn.
They claimed the work, entitled Spiritual America, could attract paedophiles to the gallery.
The image will go on display from tomorrow in an exhibition also featuring explicit sex acts and works made from the covers of pornography magazines.
Richard Prince's 1983 image of Miss Shields shows her naked, oiled and wearing make-up, looking directly at the viewer.
It is hung in a room at the gallery in London with a notice on the door warning visitors they may find the image 'challenging'.

The actress refrained from getting intimate with a man until she was in her early twenties because she wasn't confident about her looks.
And, if she could do it all again, Shields is adamant she would experiment sexually at a much younger age.
She tells Health magazine, "(I regret) not learning to love the way I looked earlier. I think I would have had sex a lot earlier. I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did, at 22, (because) I would have been much more in touch with myself. To me, that's a health regret."

The ever gorgeous Brooke Shields graces the cover of October 2008 issue of Shape Magazine, the Special Breast Cancer Awareness Month edition of the fitness magazine.
The actress says her secret to staying slim is spinning class. “Spinning is the only way I ever lose weight,” she says. “It’s purely about keeping my heart rate up and burning calories.”
Brooke prepared for her cover shoot by doing tons of spinning before she had foot surgery in April to remove a bunion. She had to be off of her feet for two months, “I was worried about getting out of shape and gaining weight after the surgery. So just as I did with my pregnancies, I decided to go into it at my physical best.”
“I can’t believe I said I’d do this shoot when I haven’t been able to exercise for almost eight weeks,” Brooke told the magazine.
After the surgery Brooke said she put on 9 pounds from not being able to spin, “That was a little more than I’d hoped, but by giving myself that cushion, I know I’ll get back into shape pretty quickly once I can start Spinning again.”
Here is poor Brooke Shields on crutches going to St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles after undergoing an operation on an old tendon injury.
After leaving a Beverly Hills hospital on Saturday, the mother-of-two will have to rest for two months to give her feet time to recover.

On Mother's Day, Katie Holmes was presented a Cartier Love bracelet from Tom Cruise. "She has not taken off the love token gift since she received it. At the first public appearance after giving birth to daughter, Suri, Katie was still wearing the trinket at the L.A. 'Mission: Impossible 3' premiere," a insider tells the Press.
Brook Shields also received the same Cartier Love bracelet from her hubby after giving birth to their child at the same hospital as Holmes.
