Christina Aguilera is "excited" about joining the world and Charlie Sheen on Twitter this week. Posting her first 140 characters late Tuesday, Aguilera thanked fans, promoted Linda Perry's band, and followed a select few of her 100,000 and counting followers.
"Here goes my first Tweet! Brace yourselves… So excited to connect with all my fans here. xo - Xtina," the Grammy Award winner and 'The Voice' judge wrote late Tuesday. "Thanks for the welcome to Twitter. I’m getting the hang of this. Never thought I’d say the word “hashtag”. Pandora's box has been opened."
News of Aguilera joining Twitter spread quickly, giving her over 100,000 followers by early Wednesday morning.

Christina Aguilera has made her first public appearance since her recent drunken arrest.
The 30-year-old singer slipped into a slimming red dress, complete with a hight waisted belt and spiked Christian Louboutin heels, and was looking considerably trimmer than she has done in recent months.
Pint-sized Christina, whose weight frequently fluctuates, was appearing at a press conference for her new reality show The Voice in Los Angeles.

Christina Aguilera will perform the national anthem before Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium.
The five-time Grammy winner also sang the anthem before the 2000 Super Bowl in Atlanta.
"I have been performing the anthem since I was 7 years old and, I must say, the Super Bowl is a dream come true," Aguilera said in a statement. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."

Aguilera admits that she is fine getting older because she is proud of all she has been through, reports Digital Spy. "You learn so much more about yourself and now I couldn't even imagine being 20 again," Aguilera says about the more difficult age.
She feels that as she approaches 30, she has grown up and is finally getting to know herself. "Now I just feel that I've arrived at a place where I’m experiencing a lot of change for myself in a great way," Aguilera says about the newest chapter in her life.
