E! News reported that the couple, who have two children together – two-year old daughter Harlow and one-year-old son Sparrow, are already working out several things about the upcoming ceremony in December, including Richie’s wedding dress and the wedding venue.
Sources close to the two revealed that Richie wants to hold the wedding at his father Lionel Richie’s estate in the Los Angeles area.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are expecting another child, barely a year after the arrival of daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden last Jan. 11.
In a message on the Web site of Good Charlotte, the band he fronts, Madden, 29, wrote, "I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed my family. Hope [you're] all feeling as good as i am right now." Madden's message is titled "Better than winning an OSCAR!"
After a famously wild childhood, Richie, 27, credited the birth of daughter Harlow for leading her to a more tranquil life at home with Madden. "She gives life a whole new meaning," Richie told PEOPLE in a coverstory featuring stunning photos of the blissful family.
Reps for Madden and Richie did not immediately return calls for comment.

New parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have bought a trendy Bowery condominium in New York for a cool $1 million.
The "low-key" two-bedroom apartment was bought to give the Los Angeles-based couple a residence on the East Coast.
A pal tells In Touch magazine, "Joel has wanted to live in New York for a while. Nicole has gone along with buying the place, but L.A. is her home."

Then someone said they read somewhere we were out all the time. It’s crazy. You leave the house for one hour and eveyone’s like, “She’s out! She’s leaving the baby!”

Mother-to-be Nicole Richie celebrated the impending birth of her baby by holding a baby shower on Sunday.
The star, who is expecting her first child with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, invited around 90 well-wishers to the Beverly Hills, Calif., event hosted by her mother Brenda, and organized by her sister Sophia and pals Paris Hilton and Masha Gordon.
Although Richie has not revealed the sex of her child, one guest presented the 26-year-old with baby boy sneakers and a maternity T-shirt emblazoned with a picture of a boy on the front.

According to TMZ the wedding date for the marriage of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden has been set.
The rumor says that the date will be October 13th and the location will be Laguna, Calif. The occasion is going to be organized by a wedding planner called Wedding Fairy and they will coordinate the small ceremony.

The couple recently had a huge blowout where Joel unleashed his fury, screaming at Nicole in front of people and causing a scene.

Nicole asked for an AAA size — the smallest cup size available — but they didn’t have it, so she bought an AA. When she emerged from the shop, a furious Joel, 28, unloaded on her in the parking lot, says an eyewitness, drawing stares from stunned passersby. He was verbally explosive and even dropped the F-bomb while the waif like star took it all in silently. “Joel used to be a nice guy, but his temper is flying loose these days,” a friend reveals.

TMZ.com claims to have confirmed that the tiny fashionista is having a baby, as does In Touch Weekly magazine.
“Nicole didn’t want to tell anyone until she was past three months,” a "pal" reportedly told In Touch. “She really kept the news from everyone.”
Richie has been dating Joel Madden, the frontman of the rock group Good Charlotte, for over six months.
In Touch is reporting that the couple will marry this summer.

Hit a woman photographer.
Supposedly the woman photographer tried to take pictures of Madden over the weekend and he took a swung at her hitting her in the breast.
This was not the only paparazzi that got a smacking, Madden also punch another photographer in the chest by a popular Beverly Hills restaurant. Proof was on video, that Madden was clearing the path for his girlfriend Nicole Richie.
The police heard wind on this incident to and may book Joel Madden for his abuse to the paparazzo.
