Publicist Susan Patricola said Friday that the 30-year-old Hartnett was released earlier this week after undergoing tests to determine the cause. He had been transported Monday to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Patricola says Hartnett had a flare-up of a gastrointestinal issue last year that affected him while he was starring in an onstage production of “Rain Man” in London.

Hartnett was admitted to hospital on Monday and is currently under observation for a gastrointestinal disorder.
And Miller made sure he wasn't lonely during his recovery, paying him a fleeting visit on Tuesday, according to X17.com.
A source tells the website, "Sienna had just 24 hours to fly all the way to LA to see Josh. She was very concerned and wanted to be sure he knew how much she cared for him."

The actor reportedly called 911 at about 12:53 a.m. and was picked up at about 2 a.m. by an ambulance that transported him to the hospital.

The Hollywood actor, best known for his role in "Black Hawk Down", will donate the 20,000 pounds (22,750 euros, 30,000 dollars) to a selection of charities.
In a September 1 article published in the Daily Mirror, the 30-year-old, who is currently appearing in a theatre adaptation of 1988 film "Rain Man", was reported to have taken a "mystery lady" to London's Soho Hotel, with the paper adding that their "steamy shenanigans were caught on CCTV."
"It further alleged that 'dumbstruck' and 'cringing hotel workers saw all of Josh's X-rated moves' which resulted in the Soho Hotel asking the claimant 'to take his personal business elsewhere in the future'," Hartnett's lawyer Graham Atkins told the court.
Atkins said the Daily Mirror's publisher MGN Ltd had accepted the allegations were "entirely false".

Hartnett, 30, is seeking damages for defamation after the Daily Mirror reported he had a "sexual dalliance" in a public area of a London hotel, reports the BBC. Hartnett, who's in London gearing up to star in a West End production of Rain Man, is also seeking a public apology.
The Daily Mirror claimed that the actor and his female counterpart were caught on closed-circuit television in the library of a Soho hotel. The tab says hotel workers witnessed the incident.
Hartnett's legal team has said the allegations are "not only untrue but a complete fabrication," the BBC reports, adding that they were "defamatory and unsubstantiated."

Josh, 27, told More magazine: "They can be really tricky. If you don’t get horny while you’re doing them, the actress gets mad at you. But if you do, she gets mad too. You can’t win!"
The actor, who is happily dating 'amazing' Scarlett Johansson, also confessed to fancying British women.
