The singer is said to have been left fearing for her life after Russian student Anastasia Obukhova sent her a creepy note describing her "dream" of dying together.
The message, which was intercepted by Gaga's management team, read: "You come to my dreams. I want to die and I want to die together with you.
"I am not (John Lennon's assassin) Mark Chapman. It is not only you who will die. I will shoot a bullet through my head too."
The 26 year old, who lives in New York, has been ordered to keep her distance from Gaga and stay at least 500 yards away from her at all times.
Chapman is behind bars after shooting the Beatles legend dead outside his New York apartment in 1980.

Candy pays tribute to Lady Gaga; this is the same magazine that turned James Franco into the world’s hardest-looking cross-dresser. From the first ever magazine dedicated to transvestites, we get a Gaga-a-like peeing standing up. It’s apparently some dude called Edward Vigiletti. Though, we’ve already seen the real Gaga with a dildo down the front of her trousers, and dressed as a boy for Vogue Hommes Japan September 2010. Vigiletti appears wearing a giant toilet roll or perhaps that’s a decorative napkin, and that bathroom’s gross.

A friend told the Daily Record newspaper: "No expense will be spared in her quest to make this dream come true.
"It's her childhood dream and she's particularly interested in castles in the north of England or Scotland."

Reports from MTV UK say that Pipedream Products has created and has been selling a blow up doll called a "Lady Gag Gag Love Doll" earlier this year and Gaga is not impressed. Gaga never approved this product and has taken legal action against the company. Pipedream Products is being told to take the doll off the shelves immediately.
Reps for Gaga say that the doll is a copyright infringement on the Poker Face singer.

Speculation on whether the meat dress Lady GaGa wore at the VMA was real has ended. The meat was real!
The dress was designed and made by Franc Fernandez.
Fernandez told MTV: "The dress is indeed real meat from my family butcher. Glad it went so well."
Gaga received harsh criticism for the meat dress from animal rights groups. The sharpest criticism came from PETA.
The "Alejandro" singer went on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" the day after the VMAs and explained she wore the dress to draw attention to the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding homosexuals serving in the armed forces.
Gaga said: "[I]f we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

Lady Gaga? has signed a licensing deal with fragrance giant Coty Inc.
Senior VP of global marketing Stephen Mormoris told WWD that the agreement was finalized last week, with Gaga's first women's scent expected to be launched in spring 2012.
The first release will be under her name.
Pop sensation Lady Gaga once again turned heads when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport, wearing very little, and a pair of handcuffs around her waist.
However, the singer wasn't breaking any airport security laws by toting a pair of handcuffs and chain, reports People mag.
A representative for the Transportation Security Administration said that the prohibited items list is based on what experts assess and analyze as a threat to aviation security.
Handcuffs do not pose an immediate threat, the rep said.

The 24-year-old pop singer covered her body with pieces of raw meat, and she matched the color of her garment with her lipstick.
However, the photo faces a strong backlash from animal rights advocates.
Ingrid Newkirk, president of American animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) based in Virginia, strongly complained that the magazine publisher mistreated animals by putting raw meat on a person's body.
"No matter how beautifully it is presented, it is certain that flesh from a tortured animal is a flesh from a tortured animal," Newkirk said.
"It definitely advocates the slaughter of animals," he added.

In Maureen Callahan's "Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga," former colleagues of the fashion conscious singer suggest she has struggled with an eating disorder.
Gaga's former tour manager, David Ciemny, claimed that while on tour the 24-year-old singer would scarf down unhealthy food and then stop eating for weeks to fit into her famous costumes.
At one point, she reportedly lost 20 pounds between fittings and, according to Ciemny, the "Poker Face" songstress was hospitalized six times last year over her dieting.
