Miley Cyrus has come to the defence of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears - insisting it's "normal" for young stars to run wild.
The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star, who has come under fire for a set of racy photos published in Vanity Fair last month (Apr08), is adamant the pair have "good hearts".
Miley Cyrus says, "Everyone has their time. And I think most 21- to 25-year-olds go through this kind of thing. Basically, they're being normal 21-year-olds, especially Lindsay (Lohan). I mean, most of that's pretty normal. If you went to most high schools, I could point out Britneys (Spears) and Lindsays.
"I guess that's why I'm so adamant about the Britneys and Lindsays and whatever, because I know those people and I know they have good hearts and they're just struggling."

"From everything I've heard she’s a great kid and obviously very talented, but I think we need to do more to preserve our kids’ childhood," Clinton said.
The presidential hopeful said she feels it is the parents’ responsibility to protect a child.
"They grow up so fast and [there are] so many influences coming from all directions these days," Clinton said. "I think it’s important that all of us as parents draw some lines here."
For the mother of a young woman, Clinton can relate to dealing with the tough topics. She sees the Miley mess as an opportunity to teach.
"As they're teens you have to be ready to talk to them. Be ready for those teachable moments — [they] don’t always come when you want them to," she said.

Justin Timberlake has joined the growing list of stars defending Hannah Montana teenager Miley Cyrus.
Cyrus has been heavily criticised for her Vanity Fair photo shoot - where which she appears partially clothed.
MTV.com caught up with JT backstage at New York's Roseland Ballroom, and asked him for his take on the situation:
"Of course they're going to pick [on] a wholesome, American, young female [for] the first sign of anything," Timberlake said.
"Unfortunately, there's a picture of her that's published with her in just a blanket. ... And that's the photo, that's the catalyst. But that's also the age we live in. People want to take a photo, and that's who you are for a year's time. We've all become victims of that."
He continued, "I don't think people her age look at [the photo] the same way their parents do,"
The multi-talented Timberlake also joked that he could make some money...
"I'm gonna make 'Leave Miley Alone' T-shirts," he laughed.

Don’t worry, Miley Cyrus – Tyra Banks has your back.
Stars are stepping up to defend Miley Cyrus and her new photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine. The latest to defend the 15-year-old is supermodel Tyra Banks.
Tyra Banks says everyone needs to leave the Hannah Montana star alone. “She is a 15-year-old, and I just wish everybody would leave her alone!” Banks said on The View Wednesday.
The talk show host said she could remember being young and having job offers for similar shoots. “There were definitely jobs they would ask me to do,” Banks said. She said her mom always helped her decide which ones were appropriate.
In Miley Cyrus’ pictures she appears to be topless. She released a statement saying she “feels embarrassed” after seeing the finished product.
Miley Cyrus has apologized for the photos; and Annie Leibovitz — the photographer behind the pictures — said she was sorry for any misinterpretation.

Hilary Duff is refusing to judge Miley Cyrus’ decision to pose for controversial photos in Vanity Fair magazine - but insists she wouldn’t have made the same mistake.
The snaps, which show 15-year-old Cyrus posing topless under a blanket, have caused outcry in her native U.S. - forcing the singer/actress to apologise, and claim she was duped into the shots.
Duff, 20, agrees Cyrus was probably pushed into posing - and that her apology should be accepted.
She says, “Everyone goes through things and takes their own path. Who am I to judge decisions that she made?
“People are pushing you to do something, and if you want to do it, that’s your choice, you know? It’s not what I would choose to do, but if she did then that’s fine. That’s her choice.
“And she said she is sorry - she is allowed to be sorry.”

Miley Cyrus has apologised for a racy Vanity Fair photo shoot in which she appears to be topless.
The 15-year-old star of Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus said she was embarrassed by the photos, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz, in which she appears wrapped in only a blanket, the Associated Press reported.
The photos accompany an article on Cyrus and her father, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus.
“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” she said in a statement.
“I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about.”
The Disney Channel, which airs Hannah Montana, criticised Vanity Fair.
“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines,” the network said.
Vanity Fair defended the photos to TV show Entertainment Tonight.
“Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”
Miley Cyrus is widely considered a wholesome role model for young girls.
Last week some playfully provocative photos of her began circulating on the internet.
