Some stars will go to great lengths to avoid being spotted in public – just ask Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson.
The couple adopted a new method of disuse as they stepped out in New York yesterday - his and hers Halloween masks.
Looking like something out of a horror film, Ashlee sported a witch mask, while Pete chose a gorilla, complete with his trademark cap.
Unfortunately, however, the props failed to prevent the paparazzi from finding the couple as they strolled through Manhattan.
The couple are spending time in New York while Ashlee stars as Roxy Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz took their son Bronx Mowgli to the Sea Cliffs exhibit at the LA Zoo on Wednesday.
Accoding to onlooker, the happy couple showed their tiny tot the aquarium along with other attraction.
Upon wrapping up their day’s zoo outing, the trio headed towards the exits as Ashlee entertained Bronx with a Spongebob Squarepants toy while Pete pushed the stroller along.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have been irritating the hell out of us lately by Twittering about their love. But putting just a bit of a damper on all the cyber mushiness is the news that Pete Wentz spent the other night partying with strippers, while Ashlee Simpson was at home with their baby son Bronx.
According to Star, Pete Wentz was recently caught getting his party on in Vegas with a whole bunch of strippers, band members, and friends.
A source that was at the party scene told "Star," "Everybody was going absolutely crazy. People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip 'n' Slide with a mat and lubricant. And Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band's own songs, grinding up against the dancers."
The source continued by adding that Pete was "dancing on a pool table with the girls" at one point.
Earlier the same day, Ashlee Simpson had twittered to Pete, "I am beyond sad to leave my love... My heart is breaking as we drive home." She also added, "I need my hubs."
So far, two photos have surfaced on the web in which Pete Wentz does indeed seem to be having a pretty excellent time dancing with the scantily-clad ladies.

Pete Wentz says his wife, Ashlee Simpson, is "awesome" between the sheets.
The Fall Out Boy singer - who welcomed his first son with the Pieces of Me singer in November - dished on his sex life with Simpson during an interview on Howard Stern's radio show Tuesday.
He said, "We have an amazing sex life.
"We have such sexual chemistry. If we had been on this show last year, we'd probably be doing it in the green room right now."
"Hopefully, the kid doesn't change it. He's [a few] weeks old," Wentz explained. "But we do other fun stuff."
Wentz, 29, said it took some time to convince Simpson to hook up with him.
But added once they did it, it was "the single best sexual encounter I have ever had.
"It was at the Soho Grand Hotel [in New York City], and I'm looking in the mirrors, [thinking], 'Oh my God, you are [sleeping with] the girl of your dreams, and you can watch yourself!'" he said.

A picture is worth $2 million?
They are if you are Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz and someone wants the exclusive first pics of your baby bad enough.
Monsters and Critics.com is reporting that the couple could get $2 million for the first pics of their new born son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
Publicist Howard Bragman stated, "I see Ashlee and Pete coming in at the low seven figures mark. Two million seems like a good, solid figure for Ashlee and Pete. It's a two-celeb couple, so that's a boost for them."
Not surprisingly, the values of celebrity pics go up and down based on status and popularity.
Bragman added, "Keep in mind, last year, Ashlee was the girl who sang along to the tape recorder. It was a PR nightmare. Now, she's a newlywed and a new mom, so she's a lot more relatable." His advice for the couple would be for them to learn from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who have made millions off pictures of their children.
"Nobody does this better than Angelina. She and Brad Pitt have been very careful to make it clear that the money they've been getting has been part of their charity outreach work. The big bucks are a nice perk, but for them, the publicity is priceless."
