As British spy James Bond, Pierce Brosnan battled many fictional bad guys – but now the actor is fighting for a good cause: He wants to help save the whales.

In a new PSA for the International Fund for Animal Welfare, Brosnan directly addresses President Barack Obama, telling him that "whales face more threats today than ever before" from everything from pollution to professional whalers to climate change.

"As a candidate you promised to end illegal whaling, and we applauded your leadership," says Brosnan. "But recent reports reveal your administration supports an international proposal, which gives Japan, Iceland and Norway the license to kill whales."

The actor then asks the president promise to protect the whales.

Pierce Brosnan will reprise his role as art thief Thomas Crown in the sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair.

And while Angelina Jolie was said to be in talks to play his leading lady, Pierce says he'd prefer Charlize Theron in the role.

He revealed over the weekend: "Charlize Theron is someone who I’ve always admired. I think she’s someone who has acquitted herself grandly.Nothing against Angelina Jolie. I think she’s a magnificent actress. But Charlize has a poise about her and has an inner strength and femininity which I really like to watch."

Say this for Pierce Brosnan - he's unique. When most male sex symbols get caught embracing a woman on a beach, it generally isn't their own wife.

But in Brosnan's case, he was photographed canoodling his beloved wife Keely Shaye Smith on a Hawaiian beach, thus making him the only star in memory who didn't have to come up with a story to explain the photos.

Pierce Brosnan has been hit with a lawsuit by the photographer who claims he was beaten up by the star earlier this year.

Brosnan is alleged to have attacked snapper Robert Rosen in Malibu, Calif. in October, but Los Angeles County prosecutors decided not to press criminal charges against the 54-year-old last month, citing lack of evidence.

However, Rosen is now suing Brosnan for assault and battery.

In legal papers obtained by TMZ.com, Rosen alleges an "out of control" Brosnan "punched, hit, struck, and attacked" him, using force that was "excessive, unlawful, (and) malicious."

He also claims the injuries sustained from the attack will cause him to "lose earnings in the future."

Rosen is seeking undisclosed damages for assault and battery, as well as for negligence.

I had a sex scene with Halle, I was having fun with her in the bed and director Lee Tamahori, this crazy New Zealander, was under the blankets with us and asked, 'So, what are you going to do with your hands? Will you touch her?' "I was excited and said, 'You want to shoot it this way? You are going to put the camera under the blankets?' "What we did in the end was like in the old Hollywood times: you can kiss, but keep your feet on the ground". Reported Female First.
