Quite a bit, it turns out, but romance isn't a part of it, according to the actress's rep.
"Scarlett and Sean are not dating – they have been friends for years. Nothing more, nothing less," her rep says. "They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett's upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam's Global Ambassador."
Reports had swirled recently that Johansson, 26, had hooked up with Penn, 50, last month following her split from husband Ryan Reynolds.

<br />The Oscar-winning actor pleaded no contest yesterday to a misdemeanor vandalism charge stemming from a fracas with a photog last fall in a California shopping center. The battery charge was dropped.

<br />Sean, 49, will have to perform 300 hours of community service (sorry, dude, but your stint in Haiti doesn’t count), undergo 36 hours of anger management counseling and be placed on three years of probation.

<br />He was also ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the cameraman and could be ordered to pay restitution at a hearing set for July 8. Lindsay Lohan and Sean Penn reportedly are in discussions about filming a movie together.
The actress has appeared in a number of flops in recent years, including 2007's "Georgia Rule," and is currently more famous for her romance with DJ Samantha Ronson.
But now the actress looks set to revive her career by starring in a film with acclaimed actor Penn, after the pair were heard discussing their career together with director Gus Van Sant.
A source tells New York gossip column Page Six, "Lindsay and Sean were talking about possibly doing a film together. Lindsay seems like she was really into the idea."

The movie star's thoughts about the deal were sent in email form to all 44,000 SAG members on Thursday, after Penn had recorded a 30-second phone message, which hit union members earlier this week.
Penn's message comes as SAG members choose whether or not accept the AFTRA deal proposal in a vote on Tuesday.
In the email, Sean writes: "AFTRA's deal not only falls short of fair compensation and protection for actors but just as significantly reflects corporate appeasement that will have an irreversible negative effect on the integrity of the show and the films we perform in.
"They're trying to buy us out, bully us down and, in so doing, they will destroy the very purpose of our work."
SAG and AFTRA bosses have made competing last-minute appeal in a bid to seek fair working conditions and royalty payments for their members as the second major Hollywood strike in a year looms.
AFTRA members are supporting the deal, which is believed to be similar to the one that ended the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike earlier this year.

Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn and his actress wife Robin Wright Penn have halted their divorce proceedings.
According to celebrity website TMZ.com, a court document requested that their divorce petition, filed last December, be dismissed.
Reuters reports that the request to withdraw the proceedings, filed at the Superior Court of California in Marin County north of San Francisco, was made "without prejudice".
A spokesperson for Penn declined to comment on the reports.
However, People magazine reports that the pair were spotted at a concert together on Tuesday night.

The 47-year-old actor, who announced his separation from his wife of 11 years Robin Wright Penn two months ago, and the 28-year-old model attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation party last night.
The pair posed for several photographs together throughout the night, prompting speculation that they are dating.
According to People magazine, when asked about her relationship with Penn, Nemcova said: "Yes, we are friends. He is on the advisory board of my charity."
