The Desperate Housewives star's documents were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court just one day after her rep denied that Parker had done the same in a Texas court.
The petition cites only the standard "irreconcilable differences" for the split. But this past week the couple have been rocked with infidelity rumors, with claims that Tony has been unfaithful.
Longoria is seeking spousal support from Parker. The couple have a prenuptial agreement signed the month before their wedding and updated two years later. The petition says their date of separation is still to be determined.
Longoria's attorney, Lance Spiegel, wasn't immediately available for comment.

TMZ. com reports that the two clerks at the Bexar County Courthouse in Texas had told the site that a case was filed for divorce and sealed by a family law judge.
However, a representative for the "Desperate Housewives" star has denied the reports saying Tony did not file and does not even have a divorce lawyer.
Eva and Tony got engaged in 2006 and tied the knot in 2007.

In the lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, plaintiff Roman Gasparyan says he was in the median on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles waiting to make a left turn when the BMW driven by Longoria "made a sudden lane change into the median lane" and collided with his car.
Gasparyan is suing for unspecified damages for damage to his vehicle and physical and mental suffering.
Parker was not involved in the accident, but was named in the lawsuit because he is the registered owner of the car Longoria was driving.
A representative for Longoria told TMZ on Monday, "According to the police report, the other driver was clearly at fault AND admitted to fault at the scene of the accident."
The rep said there was "absolutely no truth" to Gasparyan's account of the accident.
"Longoria made no sudden turn, did not violate any traffic violations nor did she make any sudden lane changes. The other driver is clearly trying to make a case where there is none. All charges are frivolous, without merit, and will not hold up in a court of law," the rep told TMZ.

The home is in a gated community and it has tile floors, a large kitchen and a master suite that has a double-sided fireplace that opens to a whirlpool tub in the master bath. Other spaces include a wood-paneled study and a media room that leads to an outdoor terrace. Parker bought this home for $782,040 when he was 19 in 2001 and added the pool and basketball court.

The new 'Desperate Housewives' series is giving Eva the opportunity to practice her mothering skills.
Set five years in the future, Eva's character is now a mother of two.
Marc added: "Gaby is having a very tough time being the mother of two overweight, hyperactive children. But Eva is having a marvellous time playing her!"

Eva Longoria is not pregnant, her husband Tony Parker tells OK! Magazine.
Rumors swirled for the umpteenth time earlier this month when the Desperate Housewives actress was captured sporting a loose-fitting dress, but Tony says that's nothing to get worked up over. In fact, fatherhood is the furthest thing from his mind at the moment.
"I’m not thinking like that right now," he says.
For her part, Eva, 33, hasn't been shy about her maternal desires, but has stated she doesn't want to start a family just yet -- a sentiment her San Antonio Spur echoes.
"Maybe one day [we'll have kids]," Tony Parker says.

The San Antonio Spurs star, Tony Parker sued X17online.com on Wednesday in Superior Court, alleging it posted a series of "false and defamatory" stories claiming Parker cheated on his wife, actress Eva Longoria. He's seeking at least $40 million in damages.
"This is false. It never happened. And X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its supposed source," the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit also alleged that X17 never contacted Parker, Longoria or their representatives before running the stories, and refused to retract them after being told the claims were false.
An after-hour call to X17's Beverly Hills office was not immediately returned.
Last week, the Web site posted a story that said the model Alexandra Paressant told X17 that she had a two-month affair with Parker. The story said Paressant told X17 she attended Parker's wedding last summer, where the French soccer star Thierry Henry introduced her to the basketball star.
"No one from X17 attempted to contact Mr. Henry, who ... would have told them in no uncertain terms that this woman was not at the wedding," the lawsuit said, adding that Parker has never met anyone named Alexandra Paressant.
"If this woman exists, he has no way of knowing whether she is one of the many fans who have, from time to time, managed to obtain his cell phone number and called or left messages or who may have engaged him in conversation."
Parker is seeking damages for defamation and invasion of privacy. The lawsuit seeks a court injunction ordering X17 to stop publishing the stories.

'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria has rejected reports in the media that her husband Tony Parker cheated on her with a model.
Speaking to People magazine, the couple stressed they had been very happy together since their marriage this July.
Basketball star Parker said: "I love my wife. She's the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier."
AdvertisementLongoria added Parker had been the "perfect husband", while stating recent media reports were completely false.
The statement from the couple comes after model Alexandra Paressant told a celebrity website she had an affair with NBA star Parker after meeting him at the couple's wedding.
Paressant claimed Barcelona footballer Thierry Henry had introduced them to each other and said they later had a brief fling in the French capital Paris.
She also told the website Parker was not committed to Longoria and was still a playboy at heart.
The model said: "Everybody has to get married at a point, but [for him] it is still time to enjoy life."

Rumours have been rife on the web that the saucy video exists and contains intimate scenes featuring the Desperate Housewives beauty and her NBA star hubby Tony Parker.

Last year Longoria was rumoured to have featured in a sex tape which also made it online, but it was found out to be fake.
