CAMERON DIAZ dodged death last week (ends17FEB06) when a bird smashed through the windshield of her car, covering her and her chauffeur with glass.

The 33-year-old actress, who was on her way to film scenes for JUDE LAW movie "THE HOLIDAY" in Surrey, England, ducked when the bird hurtled through the window.

But Diaz was saved by her driver's calm reaction, instead of swerving or panicking, he kept his cool and pulled into the nearest garage.
