Material Girl pop singer thinks that she was on the fat side when she had her first hit album in the '80s, and she's glad she did not have to compete with today's young stars.

"I would have been too fat," she is quoted by The Mirror as saying. "When I started out, I was kind of [plump]. I would have had to get anorexia. They would have said: 'She is way too chubby,'"
