Halle Berry was insulted when Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles impersonated an African American while he was interviewing her and her 'X-Men' co-star Hugh Jackman. Reported Female First.
The whole impersonation started when Moyles told Hugh Jackman he would be a good James Bond, and than Moyles joked that Hugh could be his double.
Moyles could not stop himself and he spoke in American accent and said: "Put your hands up in the air!"
Hugh commented: "Are you a Brooklyn Bond?"
Moyles responded: "I'm a black American guy. A big fat black guy. Put your hands up in the air. I don't wanna be shooting ya butt."
Halle watched in horror and then snapped disgustedly: "Are we being racist here?"
Moyles made up excuses about his bad american accents.
But later in the show when Halle was out of ear-shot: "She didn't like me being funny? What's wrong in having a little fun? What a total bummer. But who cares? Don't come on the show if you are going to bring it down."
A BBC spokesperson said later: "There was no racist comments from Chris and he had made that clear on air."
