Katherine McPhee is told by doctors she can't talk! The most recent runner-up of American Idol can not join the rest of the finalist for their kick-off U.S. tour "American Idols Live" on Wednesday. McPhee was diagnosed with a severe case of bronchitis and laryngitis. American Idol fans are saddened.

"I am totally bummed out," said one fan.

Manchester's Verizon Wireless Arena announced McPhee wasn't performing at the concerts Wednesday and Thursday night; her doctor, Sean Nassari, ordered "total voice rest." Reported Yahoo! News.

McPhee said in a statement: "I need to follow doctor's orders and rest. I will reunite with the rest of the idols later in the show."
