Avril Lavigne can't slow dance! Slow dancing is easier than the dance she does on stage. So, when it was time to dance with new husband (Sum 41's Deryck Whibley) on thier wedding night, it was awkward. To say the least.
The newly married couple on Saturday - when it came to the ‘first dance’ they were a bit dumbfounded: “Since we didn't know to sway to the music, we just hugged and kissed,” Avril told ET Canada.
“People don’t really slow dance anymore. The last time I danced was at my school dances. Sure I dance at nightclubs with friends, but as far as slow dancing goes, we don't do it.”
The couple, swayed to Avril's favorite song, ‘Iris’ by The Goo Goo Dolls.
Aside from the dance, the day was perfect: “it was beautiful. It was more exciting than performing on stage. It was the biggest and happiest moment of my life!”
Avril cracked up when she heard the rumors that the got married wedding because she was pregnant: “Oh, God no! Hopefully, eventually down the road. We married because we are in love. Duh!”
