It's hard to imagine someone else playing Susan in the well loved serious, “Desperate Housewives”. Teri Hatcher is just so perfect for it. And Mary Louise Parker thinks the same. The actress was also offered the role, but passed on. She doesn't regret it as she feels that the character just wasn't meant for her.

She tells Contactmusic, "I certainly don't begrudge her (Hatcher's) success. I don't think I really fit in that world necessarily. I don't like to think in terms of regret."
