Brad felt left out. Aniston's father had a heart attack and Brad was unable to comfort his ex-wife Aniston. He tried to contact Aniston several ways but with no avail. When Jennifer and Brad split she changed all her phone numbers, so he had no way of reaching her.

"The only way he could send her a message that he was thinking of her and her family, was through Aniston's manager." a friend commented.

"Brad was relieved to hear that his father-in-law, John Aniston, was in recovery. The whole incident hit Pitt quite hard because he wasn't there to support Jen's family and he had to hear it through the press."
