Actress Ferrera, not looking so geeky, won her first award at the Golden Globes ceremony last night in Los Angeles. Ferrera won "Best Comic Actress" for her popular show "Ugly Betty" on ABC Thursday nights.
No nerdy glasses that night just tears in her eyes and a big smile. "Ugly Betty" was also, awarded "Best Comedy", just minutes before Ferrera's win.
Ferrera beat out some great actresses that have been nominated many times in the past. When "Ugly Betty" first viewed, ABC had little faith of the show ever getting any buzz. But as soon as it started, it was a hit and won a slot on Thursday nights.
Ferrera said she hears every day from girls inspired by her character, Betty Suarez, saying it “truly brings a new face to television.” Reported Yahoo News.
