It was a sad day Thursday, Anna Nicole Smith died after being found in her hotel room unconscious in South Florida.
She had checked into the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, with her lawyer and boyfriend, Howard K. Stern on Monday.
Smith's private nurse found her unconscious and called the hotel workers at around 1:38 p.m., security arrived shortly after to the room.
Smith's bodyguard tried to revive her by performing CPR on her.
She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in South Florida a half hour later, where she passed away.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, according to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office, reported CNN.
"Anna Nicole Smith was supposedly suffering from a flu bug for last couple of days," her attorney Ron Rale said.
"We are shocked and completely heartbroken by my sister's death. We had our differences but Anna was our blood and she will be missed," said Smith's sister, Donna Hogan after hearing the news late Thursday.
"She was determined woman to make a life for herself outside of her small town in Texas."
Hogan continued by saying, "the death of her son Daniel literally killed her, even though she never showed it."
Smith's baby daughter Dannielynn Hope was born only days before Daniel's death.
