In a year of unparalleled diversity and international muscle at Hollywood's film honors, the Academy Awards finished as a love fest for a long-overlooked American — Martin Scorsese, reported Oscars Movies.
Scorsese's has been nominated five times, he finally won for mob film "The Departed," it also won best picture of the year.
It was finally Scorsese time to win, but the director was modest and said he was not expecting the Oscar.
